Edie Falco (The Sopranos) will be a series regular for the fourth season of Mayor of Kingstown. She will be playing Nina Hobbs, the new warden of Anchor Bay. Lennie James (Fear the Walking Dead) will play Frank Moses, a respected, legendary gangster, and Laura Benanti (The Gilded Age) will play Cindy Stephens, a new correctional officer. Paramount has just dropped the new trailer for the Jeremy Renner series. Created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillion, Major of Kingstown follows the powerful McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry.

Updated, Aug. 20: “Warden, you know who I am,” says Jeremy Renner’s Mike in the first trailer for Season 4 of Mayor of Kingstown. In it, we’re introduced to Edie Falco’s Nina Hobbs, the new warden of Anchor Bay.

“You’re an ex-con who ran this place for years,” says Falco’s Hobbs. “Ocean of blood in your wake and now, now you can’t do that,” she warns.

The news came alongside new photos from the season, which show Jeremy Renner’s Mike McLusky opposite new cast member Edie Falco, who plays the new warden of the Anchor Bay Prison, for the first time.

The duo plays a married couple invited by their gay son to a weekend away in a rented house to meet his boyfriend’s parents. They soon find out that the house isn’t vacant after all, but rather haunted by an ancient demon looking for an earthbound host to occupy… and it finds an unsuspecting one in Cox.

Review: Horror/comedies can have a difficult time in balancing between their two targeted genres. Do too much of one, and you lose the identity of the other, so it’s always been a delicate balance that needs to be struck. I’m not sure it’s appreciated just how much skill it takes to pull it off and pull it off well. Because in order to accomplish that, you have to know both genres intimately and understand the common tropes and pitfalls. The Parenting seems to understand the comedy due to its hilarious cast, but when it comes to the horror, this may as well be a Disney movie.

What about a weekend getaway to set up a neutral ground of sorts? There's your answer. Let's hope the location of choice doesn't turn out to be a haunted house or something... Enter The Parenting, heading straight to Max on Thursday with a talented cast that efforts to save an ultimately underwhelming end result from the great director Craig Johnson (The Skeleton Twins) and the funny writer Kent Sublette (Saturday Night Live).

Some of your favorite small-screen stars, including Lisa Kudrow (Friends), Brian Cox (Succession), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), and Edie Falco (The Sopranos), tackle the parental roles, which ultimately fall victim to thinned-out character development since the folks behind the lens try again and again to freak you out.

Not being particularly familiar with director Craig Johnson’s (The Skeleton Twins) work or screenwriter Kent Sublette’s (Saturday Night Live) writing, expectations for The Parenting were mostly based on its promising premise and impressive cast. A couple’s weekend getaway with their parents takes a supernatural turn in The Parenting, an amusing horror adventure directed by Craig Johnson (Wilson, Alex Strangelove) from a screenplay by Kent Sublette (Saturday Night Live). The film, which bows on Max on March 13, is low on genuine scares, but it does boast an appealing cast, whose comic chops elevate the flick slightly above the standard streamer slush.

Rohan (Nik Dodani, Atypical and Twisters) and Josh (Brandon Flynn, 13 Reasons Why and Manhunt), a sweet couple, are nervous to meet each other’s families. On the drive up to a beautiful countryside mansion, which they have rented for the low cost of $350 a night, the two trade tips and secrets on making the best impression. It’s mostly Rohan trying to prepare his boyfriend for his uptight and judgmental parents. But Josh, a former employee at Rei and aspiring musician, is unfazed.

HBO Documentary Films is currently in production on a documentary about Flaco, the male Eurasian eagle-owl who gained worldwide attention after he was mysteriously set free in New York City in 2023.

Penny Lane (“Music Box: Listening to Kenny G”) will direct the untitled HBO documentary with producer Gabriel Sedgwick. Sandbox Films and Spinning Nancy are also producing the project.

The feature-length doc will explore how Falco, part of the largest species of owl in the world, was discovered missing from his cage at the Central Park Zoo in Manhattan. The film follows the surprising story of what happened when Flaco, who had lived his entire life in captivity, was released in New York City to the delight, concern, and fascination of millions in the city and beyond.

Mayor of Kingstown has added three big names to its cast for its fourth season. According to Deadline, Edie Falco, Lennie James, and Laura Benanti are joining the Taylor Sheridan series, which Paramount+ renewed in December.

The series follows a family of power brokers in Detroit, starring Jeremy Renner, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Nishi Munshi, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Michael Beach.
