David Krumholtz tried to revive Numb3rs, but CBS said no. He also discussed the potential revival of Freaks & Geeks, but believes it's unlikely to happen. Krumholtz reflected on being part of the Oscar-winning film Oppenheimer.

In an exclusive interview with MovieWeb, Numbers star David Krumholtz revealed to us that he has tried to bring back the crime drama series for a revival. Likening the return of Numbers (also sometimes known as NUMB3RS) to such recent comebacks as those made by Frasier and Monk, Krumholtz said that he did “put the idea” of a Numbers revival “out into the world,” but, sadly, CBS said “no.”

"I was, a few years ago. I sort of put the idea out into the world, called the creators of the show and said, 'Hey, why don't we do this? They're starting to reboot stuff.' And they took it to CBS, and CBS said no.

Tributes and remembrances began pouring in for the Oscar-nominated George Segal after his wife, Sonia Segal, confirmed the actor’s passing Tuesday at age 87.

LeBron James has sold his first scripted project to NBC through his SpringHill Entertainment banner, TheWrap has learned. The untitled script follows a doctor who specializes in treating the world’s top athletes. USA rolled out a pretty hefty list of new dramas in development at its upfront on Thursday (May 16) to go along with the two original comedies it's picked up.

The cable channel says it's ready to start production on "Horizon," a drama from "The Walking Dead" executive producer Gale Anne Hurd that's set in World War II. Written by Bridget Tyler ("Burn Notice"), it centers on a woman working at the FBI who stumbles on a top-secret project, code named "Horizon," that could provide answers about her husband's death. Needless to say, she also invites some trouble for herself with her investigation.

Ion Television has closed an off-network syndication deal with CBS Television Distribution for all six seasons (118 episodes) of the CBS procedural drama Numbers. The series is set to premiere on Ion during the 2012/13 television season. “Numbers aligns perfectly with our general entertainment schedule and is a natural next step in our syndicated series expansion strategy,” said Brandon Burgess, CEO, Ion Media Networks. On Ion, Numbers joins a lineup that includes original program WWE Main Event and off-network series Flashpoint, Criminal Minds, Cold Case and Leverage. Numbers follows dedicated FBI agent Don Eppes (Rob Morrow), who recruits his mathematical-genius younger brother, Charlie (David Krumholtz), to help solve a wide range of crimes in Los Angeles. It was created by Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton who executive produced it with Ridley and Tony Scott.

However, it seems that the classic 1977 TV series is the latest classic TV series to receive the reboot treatment, according to Deadline TV. The site reports that actor Topher Grace will be executive producing the new series, along with Numb3rs creators Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton. Hawaii Five-o is getting its reboot debut this fall on CBS while Rockford Files is getting one on NBC. So it makes sense this cop show would be talked about.

CHiPs set for TV remake with Topher Grace executive producing The 1977 TV series CHiPs is the latest classic TV series to receive the reboot treatment, according to Deadline TV. The site reports that actor Topher Grace will be executive producing the new series along with Numb3rs creators Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton.

It was said that the new series had not been shopped to any networks as of yet but, with the buzz surrounding Hawaii Five-0, another reboot of a 1970s TV series that will debut this fall, it is likely this project could spark some interest.

The original CHiPs series starred Larry Wilcox as Jon Baker and Erik Estrada as Francis "Ponch" Poncherello, two motorcycle officers with the California Highway Patrol.

It seems the appeal of guys in stretch pants and tight shirts riding motorcycles on the freeways of Los Angeles is timeless.

Apparently there's a new version of the 1970s police drama 'CHiPs' in the works, and while it's still in the early stages of development, there are some relatively big names behind the project.

According to a Deadline report, 'That '70s Show' star Topher Grace will executive produce the reboot -- though he won't be in front of the camera -- and Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton, the creators of 'Numbers,' will write and executive produce.

Exclusive: I hear a new take on the 1970s comedic action drama CHiPs is in the works at Warner Bros Television. Numbers creators Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton are writing/exec producing, and Topher Grace would exec produce the reboot with his partner at Sargent Hall Prods Gordon Kaywin. Topher will not be starring. Deals are still being finalized, and the project has not been taken out to the networks yet. But I bet it will spark solid interest given the heat that the revamp of another 1970s action procedural, CBS' new series Hawaii Five-0, has been garnering going into fall. Wbtv first tried mounting a remake of CHiPs 8 years ago with Doug Liman and Dave Bartis producing.
