  • Trivia
South African-born actress of English-Welsh parentage (her father was a lecturer). She was trained for acting in Berlin at the Max Reinhardt school of the Deutsche Theater and had a successful career on the stage. Her film appearances ranged from supporting roles to occasional leads, frequently as eccentric or capricious characters. Arguably, one of her best performances was in the Defa production L'affaire Blum (1948).
