Biography

An award winning director, Steven is the creator, producer, and host of the popular JOURNALISTA PODCAST for iHeart Radio. He has worked as a Hollywood screenwriter and made features, commercials, music videos, documentaries and was also a professor at Loyola University New Orleans teaching film and screenwriting. Recently invited by a racial justice organization to direct a short project on black incarceration in America. The film, A CRY FOR HELP, is winning best picture awards in the U.S., Europe and Asia. His feature project, HATE CRIME, a film about the consequences of fear and repression, received numerous awards at film festivals all over the world. He's also known for the cult film, BALLER BLOCKIN', a rap film for Universal starring Lil Wayne, hit #1 on the Billboard charts in DVD and video sales eventually going quadruple platinum. Steve's been repped by top agencies as a screenwriter and worked as a script fixer, and screenwriting coach. He lived and worked at an AIDS hospice for two years while making the award winning feature length documentary, LIVING WITH...A FILM ABOUT LOVE AND AIDS. It premiered at the Santa Barbara Film Festival and traveled the world, contributing to the opening of new AIDS Hospices, his proudest accomplishment. Steve studied film production in the graduate program at Boston University and also has a degree in Political Science.
