Martin Erlichman
Marty Erlichman is known throughout the entertainment industry as one of the most respected personal managers in the industry. He is perhaps best known for discovering the legendary Barbra Streisand, managing her career from 1961 up to the present day. With Erlichman's unwavering support and guidance, Streisand rapidly grew from an aspiring NY nightclub singer to a global superstar, whose unparalleled career has triumphed on stage, screen, records, as a screenwriter, songwriter, film director. and NY Times best-selling author. Her infrequent concert tours, all initiated and Executive Produced by Erlichman, have shattered box office records, and she is recognized by the RIAA as the #1 selling female recording artist of all time. Streisand has received every conceivable entertainment accolade, including multiple Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes, Grammys, and a Tony Award for her work on Broadway. Erlichman's unerring eye for talent has prevailed in multiple genres. In addition to his long-standing career with Streisand, Erlichman has managed other leading artists and entertainment figures in his storied career, starting with the historic blues singer Josh White, and the popular Irish folk group The Clancy Brothers with Tommy Makem. Bob Dylan frequently acknowledges the Clancy Brothers as a major influence on his musical career. In the comedy world, he managed the renowned Joan Rivers, often cited as the most important female comedian of her generation, as well as the gifted comedic TV and film star Chevy Chase, known for his appearances on the long-running Saturday Night Live and a string of comedy hits like Foul Play, Fletch and Caddyshack. In the pop music field, Erlichman guided the career of chart toppers Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, who achieved five #1 Gold singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and numerous best-selling Gold and Platinum albums. In the country music field, he managed Country Hall of Fame superstar Ray Price, widely recognized as one of the finest singers of the genre. Erlichman also managed the revered, multi-platinum songwriter/producer Bob Crewe, known for writing and producing a string of indelible smashes for the singing quartet The Four Seasons. Crewe and the group were immortalized on Broadway as The Jersey Boys - loved throughout the world for their many hit songs including, "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like a Man," "Rag Doll," "My Eyes Adored You" and other enduring pop classics. Perhaps his most unique and unprecedented managerial experience occurred in the world of sports, when Erlichman managed the #1 Heavyweight Champion of the World, legendary boxer George Foreman. Erlichman is a successful film maker. In addition to producing the Streisand comedy hit For Pete's Sake, lead by noted British director Peter Yates (Bullet, The Deep, The Dresser), other Erlichman productions include the noir classic Breathless, starring Richard Gere, and the mystery thriller Coma, starring Michael Douglas, written and directed by Michael Crichton (The Andromeda Strain, Jurassic Park, and the long-running TV hit medical drama E.R.) Erlichman also Executive Produced the successful Ernest comedy film franchise which he sold to the Walt Disney Company. The wildly popular film series include Ernest Goes to Camp, Ernest Goes to Jail and Ernest Scared Stupid. As a television producer, Erlichman has received the Emmy Award, Cable Ace Award and the prestigious Peabody Award, for his work Executive producing all of Barbra Streisand's celebrated TV specials, including the multi-Emmy winning classics My Name Is Barbra and Color Me Barbra, and the renowned concert specials A Happening in Central Park, Barbra: The Concert, Timeless, Back to Broadway and the highly rated Netflix special The Music...The Memories...The Magic!
