Maggie Gyllenhaal’s take on The Brideis one project that has all eyes on it. In years gone by the horror genre has spoilt fans for choices be it big productions like Sinners, Nosferatu, franchises like Scream, Terrifier, or small independent sub-genre films like Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. Overall, there’s an elevation in storytelling, visuals, and characterization that have hooked fans, who’ll not settle for anything less now. In a new interview, The Bride actor Peter Sarsgaard opened up about the “controversial” nature of the film starring Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale in lead roles.
While the plot details of The Bride are kept tightly stuffed in the coffin, the movie is expected to follow a lonely Frankenstein, who travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the aid of Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. Sarsgaard told Deadline, “I’m going to say that it’s going to be controversial,...

“The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic and social change, when empires were built, but no victory came without sacrifice.” That’s the opening line in the description for The Gilded Age Season 3, premiering this Sunday, June 22 at 9/8c on HBO. The tagline from the trailer is, “Love can conquer all, or cost you everything.” Love and money (or lack of both) do come at a steep price for just about every character this season. And impacting every interpersonal dynamic are historic events that shape society. The Gilded Age Season 1 included historical figures such as Clara Barton (Linda Emond) and her Red Cross efforts, and Season 2 featured Booker T. Washington (Michael Braugher) and the Tuskegee Institute, Thomas Edison illuminating the New York Times building, the opening of the Brooklyn Bridge, the opening of the Metropolitan Opera House (and the subsequent decline in popularity of the Academy of Music), and more.

After three seasons, it should be easier to cast the kids of ABC’s “Abbott Elementary,” but Emmy-nominated casting director Wendy O’Brien says that the show’s popularity has made it tougher.
“It’s a struggle to find and vet young actors that don’t have a lot of experience. Especially when you’re talking about a kindergarten class,” admits O’Brien, who took home the gold two years ago for the same show.
While a 5-or 6-year-old might not have much acting experience under their belt, O’Brien says the upside to the series and its success is that she has seen an uptick in the number of kids being submitted for her consideration.
“A lot of them are auditioning in nice blue collared shirts, already in character. We’re definitely seeing more newcomers trying out,” she says.

Benoit Blanc's character could benefit from having an assistant, like Rufus Cotesworth in Death and Other Details. Introducing a detective protégé for Blanc could add a new dynamic to Knives Out 3 without straying from its successful formula. The lack of a Holmes/Watson dynamic in the Knives Out films could be filled by bringing in a younger character to learn from Blanc.
The Knives Out films introduced Benoit Blanc as one of the greatest fictional modern detective characters, but a new Hulu mystery series has exposed a missed opportunity for his character that could and should be explored in subsequent additions to the franchise. Rian Johnson’s Benoit Blanc is a major reason the Knives Out films have been so successful, with Daniel Craig’s character being the constant between them. Knives Out 3 has been confirmed, and one new character could bring out what the films have been missing thus far.

If you watched Season Three of Only Murders in the Building, you know it ended with, well, another murder in the building. But if there’s one thing fans can count on, it’s that Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin), and Oliver (Martin Short) will be sure to follow the case closely.
The series’ season three premiere marked the highest-rated Hulu episode of 2023, and the show nabbed nearly a dozen Emmy nominations, making expectations for the next season even higher. And while some themes will remain tried and true...

The early Only Murders in the Building season 4 scripts are incredible, Hulu and Disney executive Craig Erwich says. Little else has been revealed about the upcoming season so far. Only Murders in the Building season 3 earned some mixed reactions for its finale.
Only Murders in the Building season 4 gets an exciting tease from a Disney executive. For its third installment, arguably the most star-studded yet, the focus of the Hulu mystery-comedy was on the death of grouchy actor Ben Glenroy (played by Paul Rudd). For most of season 3, the evidence seemed to point to Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep) as the culprit. However, the finale revealed a few twists and paved the way for a new shocking investigation.

Step aside (for now) White Lotus, Only Murders in the Building, and even you, Knives Out. Violett Beane, who plays Imogene, a wannabe murder-mystery solver on Hulu’s Death and Other Details, says “trust no one.” She goes on to say that audiences should expect a big twist coming up in the new series, which has generated buzz for its White Lotus by way of Agatha Christie vibes. “I think audiences will be insanely surprised by the final episode. You definitely don't know what's going to happen. I haven't seen anything quite like it in any of these newer murder mysteries.”
The shocking season finale doesn’t air until March 5, but fans are already eager to know about a potential second season. “On the creative side, absolutely, we love the idea of a season two, and have so many ideas of where we would go with it,” Beane added. “In terms of production,...

“Pay attention: Details matter,” growls a heavily accented Mandy Patinkin as detective Rufus Cotesworth in the opening seconds of “Death and Other Details,” created by Heidi Cole McAdams and Mike Weiss. There’s more to the quote — hours, and hours, in fact, of droll monologues about perception and detection throughout the series — but Hulu and ABC Signature’s new show appears to have skimped heavily on attention to detail, resulting in a product so shallow, so ramshackle, that it borders on unwatchable.
To its detriment, “Death and Other Details” is not as much about Rufus Cotesworth (a character who will only be referred to by his delightful full name throughout this piece), but about Imogene Scott (Violett Beane), who met him as a child while he was investigating her mother’s death. The orphaned Imogene was taken in by the Colliers, a family of the kind of wealth that outwardly...

“Memory is a motherfucker,” detective Rufus Cotesworth (Mandy Patinkin) declares in Hulu’s Death and Other Details. Humans, he means, are prone to accidental forgetfulness, self-indulgence, and, on occasion, trauma-driven memory loss. How, then, will Rufus, the so-called “World’s Greatest Detective,” crack a case that relies on both his own and witnesses’ memories over the last 20 years?
The inciting incident is the murder of entitled richling Keith Trubitsky (Michael Gladis) aboard a luxury ocean liner, establishing an Agatha Christie-style closed circle of suspects, as the killer must be on the ship. Trubitsky, it turns out, was invited as a friend of the Colliers, whose family business is on the brink of financial ruin. They chartered the boat as a last-ditch attempt to schmooze potential investors, the Chun family, who’ve hired Rufus to do due diligence.
Rufus has his own agenda: to finally solve the 20-year-old murder case of the Colliers’ former assistant.

Murder mystery drama Death And Other Details is heading to Disney+ – and the show even has a new trailer! Have a gander within.
Michael Weiss has been a producer and screenwriter on many successful shows, including Chicago P.D, The Mentalist and the terrific Cobie Smulders private eye comedy drama Stumptown, which sadly only ran for a single series but is well worth watching. It’s currently streaming on Disney+.
Weiss is now co-showrunner of Death And Other Details, a murder mystery drama series heading to Hulu in the US and Disney+ in other territories, including the UK. It looks like a cross between Death On The Nile and The White Lotus, which is a pretty good hybrid if you ask us.
