Paula Deen is ready to tell her side of the story behind the racist remark that decimated her career, but you'll need to pay to hear it.

The former Food Network star has been working on a documentary about herself and her downfall - triggered in 2013 by her acknowledgment that she'd used a racial slur in the past - but it will only be available to subscribers of her new website, the Paula Deen Network. Recipe content on the site will be free, but viewers will need to pay $9.99 a month to view videos.

"We hope to have it out the first of the year and tell everybody the true story of what really happened," Deen said of the documentary during a recent telephone interview. "It was a painful year for me. It was a hurtful year when I found myself being labeled for something I was not.

A new face will be joining daytime talk show, The Chew. Australian chef Jason Roberts is the show's newest correspondent.

Roberts won't see much in-studio time, though. He'll be busy traveling the country in search of the best food-related stories to share with The Chew audience.

After the shocking revelation that Food Network host Paula Deen was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes three years ago, many questions remain. High among them: what happens to her television career? According to Food Network insiders, the celebrity chef has no plans to change the way she cooks on TV until at least 2013.

Cooking, entertainment and lifestyle show "The Chew" premieres on September 26 on ABC, just as "All My Children" ends a 41-year run, but the talk show's producer, Gordon Elliott, hopes soap fans will give his show a chance.
