  • Began his career as the host of Australia's first morning news show, "Good Morning Australia" before becoming a reporter for the NY-based Fox syndicated program "A Current Affair" and it's local morning show "Good Day New York".
  • Was unable to continue as host of To Tell the Truth (1990), after 8 weeks, hence, Lynn Swann replaced Elliott, 14 weeks before Alex Trebek, replaced him.
  • Before he was a successful talk show host and producer, in his early career, he filled in for Casey Kasem, twice, on 'American Top 40,' in 1979.
