In the 1970s, at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, USA, four male athletes joined a dance class. Their collaborative work led to the creation of Pilobolus and the transformation of modern dance.

Check Your Body at the Door is a documentary about remarkable underground House dancers in NYC. Filmed during the golden decade of the 1990s, it follows a core group of master free-stylists in to the clubs, at their jobs and in their everyday lives. Also filmed in the studio against a white background, in silhouette or in light pools, their virtuosic moves and choreography are striking.

Local choreographers, dance film directors, and environmental experts discuss art and resource conservation, and how the art of dance can bring about awareness of environmental issues. 7:30pm Trashdance filmmaker Andrew Garrison Choreographer Allison Orr finds beauty and grace in garbage trucks and in the men and woman who pick up our trash.
