Biography

    • Betty Westmore was born on August 5, 1907 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She was an actress, known for The Man in Hobbles (1928), The Wright Idea (1928) and Girls of Today (1928). She was married to Ern Westmore and John Harron. She died on January 14, 1999 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Family

  • Spouses
      Ern Westmore(February 15, 1941 - February 1, 1967) (his death)
      John Harron(June 17, 1929 - November 24, 1939) (his death, 1 child)

Trivia

  • Her husband John came from a large family of nine, including silent screen star/brother Robert Harron. John was the only sibling to marry and extend the family. Interestingly, daughter Colleene herself had nine children of her own.
  • Was a founding member of S.A.G.
  • Warner Bros. mogul Jack L. Warner called her following husband John Harron's death and generously transferred John's film contract over to her. She ended up primarily a "stand-in" for such Warner stars as Bette Davis and Jane Wyman.
  • After her first husband John's sudden death of spinal meningitis in 1939, she went on to marry famous makeup artist and sometime actor Ern Westmore and appeared (as Betty Westmore) on his show that offered beauty tips during the 50's. Betty never worked under her Betty Harron name, preferring home and family instead and supporting John's career.
  • She was an actress when she met John Harron during the filming of The Man in Hobbles (1928). They married in 1929 and had a daughter, Colleene (Harron) Kiley, born on August 13, 1930.
