Michael "Mike" Edols ACS was a renowned international cinematographer, whose career spanned well over 35 years. Written testimonies refer to him as having produced "works of intelligence" throughout his professional career and described him as having the ability to meet each assignment with a unique and yet consistent style.

His colourful heritage, coupled with his extensive training, influenced his passion for 'painting with light' in exotic and frequently impossible locations, with the pace, discipline and control of a studio schedule. Equally at ease heading large and small crews, Edols worked between the realms of both theatrical works and television commercials.

His production company Michael Edols Films has earned credits of distinction for innovation and made a valuable contribution to the Australian Film Industry.
