Ibram X. Kendi is developing a documentary based on his bestselling book “How to Raise an Antiracist.”
The project is one of seven book-to-screen adaptations in the works at his production company Maroon Visions, which is overseen by head of development and production Michael Lebowitz. The company previously produced Netflix’s “Stamped From the Beginning,” based on Kendi’s book of the same name, and ESPN’s “Skin in the Game.” Kendi and Lebovitz serve as executive producers on each of the adaptations.
“How to Raise an Antiracist” is a follow-up to Kendi’s 2019 book “How to Be an Antiracist.” Published in 2023 via Penguin Random House, the book “guides parents, caregivers and teachers on how to protect children from harmfully racist messages while raising them to come of age and join the efforts to create equity and justice for all.”

“The Wonder Years” reboot will not return for a third season at ABC, TheWrap has learned.
The network has chosen to cancel the sitcom starring Elisha “Ej” Williams, Dulé Hill and Saycon Sengbloh, which ran for two seasons. The cancellation comes just over a month after the coming-of-age drama aired the finale for its sophomore season, which saw the Williams family head to Disneyland.
Debuting its first season in September 2021, the reimagining of the ’80s series of the same name similarly centered on the Black middle-class Williams family during the late ’60s in Montgomery, Al. Don Cheadle narrated the series an adult Dean Williams while Elisha “Ej” Williams played 12-year-old Dean onscreen.
In May 2022, controversy came over the show as executive producer and director Fred Savage — who starred in the original series — was fired after multiple allegations of inappropriate conduct. While specifics regarding the misconduct were not revealed at the time,...

The Wonder Years continues to make us laugh in its second season on ABC.
The successful reboot continues tonight with an episode titled "Like a Boss."
TV Fanatic scored an exclusive first look at one of the many comical scenes ahead, and it features one of the true constants of the series:
Dulé Hill's perfect comedy timing.
We don't want to delve too far into what happens in the clip because then you won't have much incentive to watch.
But we can talk about the episode.
"After Lillian's boss announces budget cuts, she is forced to make a decision and enforce boundaries between her personal and professional life," the description reads.
"Dean and Cory's friendship hits a few speed bumps as they work together for the boxcar derby."
The clip focuses on the latter, with Dean and Cory preparing for the boxcar derby and the reaction from the...

ABC is shifting the sophomore season of “The Wonder Years” to the summer. The comedy, which had originally been announced to return in midseason, wasn’t included in ABC’s midseason.
Instead, new sitcom “Not Dead Yet” is filling the one available slot on Wednesday’s four-comedy lineup (the only sitcom block currently on the network), launching at 9:30 p.m. Et behind “Abbott Elementary”. With no room for any other half-hour, that necessitated “The Wonder Years” move to summer. A premiere date will be announced later.
Although the show won’t return for a bit, ABC confirmed a list of guest stars for Season 2. Besides previously announced guest Patti Labelle, the show will also welcome Wayne Brady, Tituss Burgess, Donald Faison, Phoebe Robinson and Bradley Whitford, among others.
Brady will play Melvin, described as “Bill’s older brother, a blowhard who is super-successful and insufferably smug about it, including being favored by their father.

**This was originally supposed to post over a week ago, but due to technical difficulties with my S&A account it sadly could not.** This week we focus on the Bet Network sitcom Let's Stay Together and the return of NBC's Revolution after a long hiatus. I've ragged a lot on the Jacque Edmonds Cofer (Living Single, Reed Between The Lines) executive produced Let's Stay Together in the past year plus of this column, about how the acting is often stiff, the situations flat-out silly and the comedy inconsistent and non-existent. All that said, there were also traces of quality within, something that the writers and cast seem to have taken a hold of in Season...

Exclusive: I hear that Bet has quietly renewed its flagship comedy series The Game for a sixth season (third on the cable network), and the Queen Latifah-produced sophomore Let’s Stay Together for a third. The pickups, which I hear are for 22 episodes, are not official yet and are expected to be announced at Bet’s upfront presentation on Thursday. Additionally, I hear that Bet is mulling a renewal of freshman comedy Reed Between The Lines. Bet, whose current foray into scripted comedy series started an year and a half ago with the pickup of The Game after it had been canceled by the CW, is quickly expanding its portfolio. In addition to the three existing original series, the network is in pre-production on hourlong pilot Being Mary Jane starring Gabrielle Union and sitcom Young Man On Campus starring Jacob Latimore, which originated as an episode of Reed this past season.

Check out the below previews of an upcoming new scripted series from Bet, a network that isn’t known for crafting its own original scripted content.
It’s a half-hour comedy titled Let’s Stay Together, and is executive produced by Queen Latifah, who developed the series under her Flavor Unit Production company; Jacque Edmonds Cofer (Living Single which Latifah starred in) is its creator.
The show revolves around 5 young African Americans dealing with the complexities of relationships; its cast includes Joyful Drake (Beauty Shop), RonReaco Lee (Moesha) and Erica Hubbard (Lincoln Heights).
“I’m so excited about our foray into scripted television. There have not been a lot of opportunities for African Americans to see themselves on TV in scripted shows. If we want to portray the full breadth of the African American experience, it’s easier to do in the scripted world rather than reality television,” said Loretha Jones,...
