  • Appeared as a hot-rodding granny / little old lady from Pasadena in the late 60s-early 70s in a series of commercials for Dodge automobiles. The commercials always ended with her saying "Put a Dodge in your garage, honey!".
  • Spotted by a talent agent while performing in a Methodist church play. Her first paying job was a a model for a Polaroid ad.
  • Merie Earle was scheduled to make her Broadway debut at age 88 in the revival of Paul Zindel's Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds. Earle broke her hip during the pre-Broadway run in La Jolla. The show opened in March 1978. Although she didn't make it to Broadway, her name appears on the poster for the play along with those of Shelley Winters and Carol Kane. (Shayd)
