Taking A Similar Path
As Sean often says on his show, “nothing’s really new.” He explained that ever since silent movies, “all the ideas were done and they’re redone even today.” In his opinion that also applies to the paths taken the former King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, and the current Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Can it get any worse than this? Royal Family News says that there are some critics out there that might be going a little too far in their criticism against Prince Harry. In fact, some royal experts are calling him “more stupid” than previously thought.
Prince Harry Wants People To Stop Calling Him ‘Stupid’
According to royal critics and biographer Alexander Larman, he thinks that the Duke of Sussex has been behaving “completely imbecilic” for the way that he’s attacked his family.
As many royal fans can recall, both Harry and Meghan went off on the royal family in their Netflix docuseries back in December 2022 and then again in Harry’s book, Spare.
He suggested that his father King Charles was emotionally unavailable while he was growing up.
If that weren’t enough, he also suggested that Camilla Parker Bowles was like an evil stepmother and also detailed a...

Was he manipulated into getting married? That’s what some fans and critics alike seem to believe when it comes to Prince Harry.
Prince Harry Criticized As Not Being Very ‘Sharp’
That’s because there’s a new report that suggests the Duke of Sussex isn’t very “sharp” and that he was easily led on by Meghan Markle during their courtship. It was the former Hollywood actress who apparently pulled all the string behind the scenes.
And because of that, Harry is where he is today, both sad and miserable in California with Meghan and their two children. If he could, some people believe that Harry would absolutely pack his bags and move back to the UK, where he believes he belongs.
Per the Daily Beast, one source close to the situation even put it this way, “The family, of course, all blame Meghan 100 percent.

Leave it to Curb Your Enthusiasm star and Seinfeld co-creator Larry David to know just how to skewer Bill Maher. The Real Time host — who recently had a much-publicized dinner with Donald Trump — is no stranger to stoking controversy with his political viewpoints over the years. But it seems as though his recent capitulation to the United States' current Commander-in-Chief has really struck a chord. Enough, at least, to elicit a scathingly hilarious response from Larry David in the form of a satirical op-ed for The New York Times.
In the piece, titled "My Dinner With Adolf," David makes several direct references to Maher's dinner — and the subsequent 13-minute opening monologue that followed on his late-night show. According to Maher, the whole thing was set up by Trump and his mutual friend... the musician Kid Rock. All was done under the guise of talking to one another because hating...

“stepped out of the cockpit and married the first pretty girl I met,”
who was his first wife, Rosemary Pawle.

Queen Elizabeth II followed in her father, George VI’s footsteps after he died. After a historical 70-year reign, the Commonwealth fondly remembers her Christmas day speeches, a tradition now carried on by her son, King Charles.
King George V Started The Tradition In 1932
Elizabeth’s grandfather, King George V, started the broadcast in 1932. He continued every year, including his last Christmas in 1935. At the time of the first speech, the Daily Mail called it
“the world’s most thrilling broadcast.”
King George VI didn’t give a Christmas day speech in 1936 after his brother, Edward VIII, abdicated the throne to tie the knot with American socialite and divorcee Wallis Simpson.
King George VI’s first Christmas broadcast was in 1937. George VI had difficulty with speech and struggled with stuttering. He delivered his first Christmas message with guidance from his speech therapist, Lionel Logue.

King George VI was born Albert Frederick Arthur George Saxe-Coburg Gotha 129 years ago, on December 14, 1895, to his parents, the Duke and Duchess of York, and future King George V and Queen Mary.
Prince Albert Developed A Stammer When He Was A Child
The young man was known as “His Highness Prince Albert of York.” However, his family nicknamed him “Bertie.” He was the second son and the spare, as his older brother, Edward VIII, was meant to be King.
The Prince had five siblings: Prince Edward, Prince John, Prince George, Prince Henry, and Princess Mary.
When Albert was eight, he developed a stammer and was forced to wear leg braces to correct his knocked knees. Prince Albert was an emotional child, often throwing temper tantrums and crying.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are the royals most closely associated with abandoning the monarchy and Britain. However, long before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were even a blip on the radar, there was King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson.
Edward’s Brother, George, Was Made King Upon Edward’s Abdication
When Edward was made the Prince of Wales on his sixteenth birthday, he enjoyed the life of a playboy and had numerous dalliances, sometimes with married women. His lack of interest in settling down became a source of stress for his father. Everything changed when he met Wallis.
On December 11, 1936, King Edward abdicated the British throne to marry an American socialite and divorcee, whom no one in his family approved of.
Edward’s decision left the UK in a state of shock, and, like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it created a significant rift in the royal family.

Archbishop Justin Welby was forced to resign as Archbishop of Canterbury after he failed to report child abuser John Smyth. Welby was the most senior bishop within the Church of England.
His victims accused Smyth of abusing dozens of boys, including those he met at Christian camps in the UK in the 1970s and 1980s.

By 2013, the Church of England was apparently aware of this horrific abuse, and those “at the highest level” looked the other way, including Welby, who had accepted the Church’s top job that year.
The Church covered up more than 100 child victims. Welby’s judgment has been questioned since he worked with Smyth in the 1970s at Christian Church camps. Smyth had molested the young boys involved with the camps.
The Archbishop was well respected for years. He presided over several occasions for the royal family.

Edward VIII was King for less than one year before he abdicated the throne to marry American divorcee and socialite Wallis Simpson. In 1936, Edward was the only British monarch who had ever abandoned the crown.
Edward Abdicated The Throne After 326 Days
Edward’s reign was precisely 326 days long. He married Simpson in 1937, much to his family and the public’s disapproval. Edward’s unwavering devotion to Wallis was clear when an unidentified man hurled a brick through the window of Wallis’s home.
He even threw another brick at Wallis’s neighbor’s home as he was determined to hit his target. Rumors were rampant about Edward’s relationship with Wallis.
The public outcry was the main reason why Edward abdicated the throne. He chose Wallis over the Commonwealth and the royal family. His brother, George VI, became King.

It’s rare to see poor Harry without his duchess steering him this way and that, and some fans think her style is domineering as well as mothering. Here is what one body language expert has to say about Meghan’s “love language.”

British royal family news reveals that as the oldest child of the future king, Prince George has his work cut out for him. Literally. He will be the monarch after his father Prince William, who becomes regent following his father King Charles’ current reign.
George is on a cookie cutter path in which royal first borns are slotted into a rigid role. That role is gilded and glamorous, but it also has its drawbacks. What if Prince George takes after his black sheep uncle and goes on his own freedom flight? Here’s what that scenario might look like.
Could Prince George Refuse The Throne?
In keeping with British tradition, the crown is worn by the oldest heir in the family. There are notable exceptions, as in the case of King Edward VIII. In 1936 he decided that life with an American divorcee sounded better than pomp and protocol and ditched the throne.

Queen Elizabeth’s Vigil Of The Princes Was The Third Ceremony Of Its Kind
Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward stood surrounding their late mother’s coffin for ten minutes as her body lay in state. Princess Anne made history as the first female to participate in the ceremony.
Slowly and in unison, they turned outwards. The Queen’s four children turned outwards. They were silent and motionless as they bowed their heads.

Prince Harry is not unlike the shamed King Edward VIII, who abdicated the throne on December 10, 1936. It was a scandal for the ages, as the King left his royal duties behind to marry American divorcee and socialite Wallis Simpson.
Edward Was The Only Monarch In 1,000 Years To Abdicate The Throne
It can be said that Edward didn’t know what he was doing. However, the Duke of Sussex, on the other hand, just had to refer to the royal family’s history to see the kind of exile he was in for by abandoning his crown.
Edward was the only monarch in 1,000 years to abdicate the throne and was universally shunned for his decision. Only a weak man would desert his people and place of nobility for a woman of questionable ilk.
Harry stepped down as a working royal in January 2020 and fled the UK with his wife, Meghan Markle.

For most of his career, Sir Ian McKellen was recognized primarily as a theater actor, having performed the work of Shakespeare since the mid-‘60s, from “Much Ado About Nothing” to “Hamlet.” He even received a Tony nomination in 1981 for his role as Salieri in Peter Shaffer’s “Amadeus” on Broadway, in which he starred alongside Tim Curry. However, in a recent interview with The Guardian, McKellen acknowledged that it was his performance in the stage and film productions of “Richard III” during the 1990s that created the seismic shift in his career.
“When we were doing ‘Richard III’ at the National Theatre in 1990, the director Richard Eyre, the designer Bob Crowley and I felt there should be modern references in the design,” McKellen said. “Although it is a history play, if you look at the dates, there were people at the original production whose grandparents would have lived in Richard III’s time.

When Peter Morgan announced The Crown‘s sixth season would be its last, there was already a wealth of royal drama to justify the show’s continuance. The spare had defected to America with his wife — and the fact that she was a divorcée and non-British made it all pretty full circle with where the show began, with Edward VIII abdicating for a similar destiny with Wallis Simpson. After departing the U.K. with so much urgency, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle then went very, very rogue by airing the palace’s dirtiest laundry for all the world to see in their jaw-dropping Oprah interview. For a firm family that’d always been so militant about abiding by protocol, a system of stricture The Crown showcased very well from start to finish, the Sussexes’ moves were and remain completely unprecedented. [This story contains spoilers from the final season of The Crown.]
With the release of the last six episodes of The Crown on Netflix have come new questions about the fictionalized depiction of the British royal family.

Now that the remaining episodes of the final season have come to Netflix, it’s hard to overlook just how much the series has changed since its inception, particularly regarding the liberties it has taken when continuing to...
