    • Archie Duncan was born on May 26, 1914 in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. He was an actor, known for Robin des bois (1955), Sherlock Holmes (1954) and Sainte Jeanne (1957). He died on July 24, 1979 in Waltham Forest, London, England, UK.

Trivia

  • Received a Queen's Award for Bravery for protecting a group of spectators (during filming of a first season episode of Robin des bois (1955)) by grabbing the bridle of a horse, which had bolted, and was drawing a cart with fixed axles that could not be steered. The cart ran over Duncan, fracturing his kneecap and putting him out of action for the next eleven episodes.
  • Former shipyard welder, the son of a sergeant-major in the British Army. Started acting with the Unity Theatre and with the Citizens Theatre Company in Glasgow. On the London stage from 1947. Best known on screen in the recurring roles of Inspector Lestrade in Sherlock Holmes (1954) and as Little John in Robin des bois (1955).
