Eldorado (2012)
UK producer guilty of £1.5m fraud
Eldorado (2012)
Producer of feature starring Hollywood and UK talent guilty of £1.5m ($2.3m) fraud.

The producer and director of horror-musical Eldorado, starring former Dr Who Sylvester McCoy, Darryl Hannah, David Carradine and the voice of Peter O’Toole, has been found guilty of a £1.5m Vat fraud.

As reported by This is Cornwall, Southwark Crown Court heard on Tuesday how Richard Driscoll, who ran a studio in Redruth, Cornwall, falsified invoices for the costs of making Eldorado and two other films (Watchmen Hellgate and Back2Hell) in order to reclaim Vat and set up a number of associated companies that were used to commit the offences.

The claims for repayment of £1.5 million Vat was based on production costs of more than £9m ($14m) but investigators found that the costs were actually less than £1m ($1.6m).

Bogus invoices were sent to support the false repayment claims. Other invoices were genuine but had their values inflated.

Another Film Fund fraudster faces jail
Cornish businessman Richard Driscoll is facing a possible prison sentence after being convicted of tax evasion related to the Film Tax Credit Fund. The 54-year-old was found to have claimed false Vat rebates after lying about the cost of three projects which included Eldorado, starring Daryl Hannah and narrated by Peter O'Toole.

The final film to star David Carradine, who was found dead in a Thai hotel room shortly after his scenes were shot, Eldorado also features Michael Madsen, Brigitte Nielsen, Jeff Fahey, Steve Guttenberg and former Doctor Who Sylvester McCoy. It's roughly based on an Edgar Allen Poe poem but also features a Blues Brothers tribute band, a strip club owner's wife on the run and a town full of cannibals. It was due to be released in 2012 but sales company Fantastic Films International reports that it never received it.

Driscoll, who also starred in the film himself, claimed.

Concept art for ambitious 3D project Watchmen Of Hellgate
A cross between Blade Runner, V for Vendetta and George Orwell's "1984," Watchmen of Hellgate is an ambitious U.K. 3D project that is currently in early production. The man behind the project is Welsh actor/director Richard Driscoll, whose credits include The Comic, Killer's Kiss, Kannibal and Evil Calls: The Raven. The film is being produced by Driscoll's production company, House of Fear.

While on the surface this seems like a cash in on the popularity of "Watchmen," Driscoll's story is more like "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" in that it is an alternative history where Hitler won the war and features famous characters from other adventure stories(like Captain Nemo) coming together to fight the evil computerized version of Hitler.

Synopsis:

Watchmen Of Hellgate shows the aftermath of a world in which Hitler won the war. The year is 2084, the place is London and a new big brother is watching.

Eldorado - the First Horror Musical?
Fantastic Films seems to be on a roll in the horror genre as they are set to release Eldorado. At the very same time Jessica a beautiful but despondent wife is on the run with a million dollars from her cheating husband's night club.

All roads lead to Eldorado,...
