Jennifer Drake was born in Denver, Colorado to F.Rodney Drake, MD and Suzanne (Bagg) Drake. Her father was in the military, and she moved around a lot in her early life, including living in Japan for three years.
At age 13, her family moved to the Washington DC area, when her father accepted the position of Chief of Psychiatry at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC. Jennifer went to junior high and high school in Potomac Maryland.
(although her immediate family now lives in North Carolina)
Her main passion during those years (and since age 8) were her horses. Most weekends were spent on the English hunter/jumper/equitation shows circuit.
Her first two years of college were spent at Rosemont College in Rosemont, Pennsylvania. After deciding she wanted to transfer , she ended up graduating from University of Missouri/Columbia with a Bachelor's degree in Theatre.
Jennifer then moved to New York City and lived in Manhattan. She was very blessed in getting her first professional acting job ever with the. American Drama Group Europe (ADGE), and she flew to Hamburg, Germany to start touring for the next several months. The tour covered Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and they performed in 93 different theaters. She did a lot of theatre and some TV and film in New York before ultimately moving to Los Angeles.
Jennifer has a passion for live stage theater as well as TV and movie sets. Stables and stages are, to her, "sacred places." She is also a huge animal (of all sizes) lover/advocate!
