A member of Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas since June 2001.

Has four children: Lauren Drain, Taylor Drain, Boaz Drain, and Faith Drain.

Picketed during rescue efforts at the World Trade Center sites after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Drain, his fellow congregates, and church leader Fred Phelps called for rescue workers to leave still living victims in the rubble on the grounds that they believed the attacks were a sign from God and that those who were wounded deserved to die. Drain, Phelps, and the other members of Westboro were told to leave or they would be arrested.
