  • Performed as vocalist with the Kay Kyser Orchestra, recording hits such as "Ole Buttermilk Sky" (1946).
  • Underwent surgery for prostate cancer in 1990.
  • Once hosted a radio program called "Hi, Ladies."
  • Passed away on his 86th birthday.
