The Best 'Gilmore Girls' Couple Doesn't Include a Gilmore
Image
Gilmore Girls has led to major debates about Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Lorelai's (Lauren Graham) various relationships over the years. Some people prefer Rory to be with her first boyfriend, Dean (Jared Padalecki), while others swear that Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) or Logan (Matt Czuchry) are better. Meanwhile, Lorelai has a clearer winner in Luke (Scott Patterson), though her second-best relationship is up for debate. However, neither of the leading characters can boast the best romance in the series because the relationship between Sookie St. James (Melissa McCarthy) and Jackson Belleville (Jackson Douglas) surpasses them all. Their relationship is a constant of the series, developing in the first season and lasting throughout the show's run. Gilmore Girls depicts their entire romantic evolution, from their first date to their marriage to the birth of their children.

Gilmore Girls' Most Underrated Character Deserves More Love
Image
Quick Links Who Is Jackson Belleville in Gilmore Girls? Jackson and Sookie Are the Best Gilmore Girls Couple Are Sookie and Jackson Divorced in Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life?

Starting the show as the eccentric produce guy for the Independence Inn, and eventually creating the perfect relationship with Sookie St. James, Jackson Belleville is an amazing Gilmore Girls character that fans of the show tend to overlook. Portrayed by Jackson Douglas, Jackson appears in 57 episodes out of the 153, more than more popular characters like Jess Mariano, one of Rory's most beloved boyfriends, with 39 episodes, or Christopher Hayden, Rory's father, with 38.

Of course, Jackson's relevance in the main storyline isn't as impactful, but he's a wholesome, funny, and lovely goof who made for an excellent friend and husband. His intense love of vegetables, fascinating creativity, and loving nature toward his wife and kids turned him into one of the loveliest characters on television.

10 TV Actors Fired From Major Roles Before Filming (& Why)
Image
Lisa Kudrow was fired from Frasier and replaced by Peri Gilpin after producers realized she wasn't right for the part during filming. Alex Borstein filmed the pilot of Gilmore Girls but had to exit the show due to contractual issues; she later returned to play different characters. John Posey initially played Danny Tanner in Full House but was fired when Bob Saget became available; Saget was the producers' original choice for the role.

Oftentimes, television show producers, writers, and directors cannot know if an actor is right for a part until they see them on set, acting out the episodes. Unfortunately, for most of these ten performers, the filmmakers didn't like what they saw, leading to actors getting fired and roles being recast. Numerous specific reasons led to the star losing their jobs, including a lack of chemistry with costars and the producers wanting to take the character in another direction.

Melissa McCarthy on Where Her Gilmore Girls Character Would Be Today
Image
Long before becoming Ursula for Walt Disney Pictures' The Little Mermaid live-action flick, Melissa McCarthy played Sookie St. James on Gilmore Girls. From 2000 to 2007, McCarthy portrayed the clumsy and quirky but brilliant chef who was also the best friend of titular character Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham). As the series progresses, audiences watch as Sookie and Lorelai grow their professional relationship from colleagues at the Independence Inn to co-owners of the Dragonfly Inn. Sookie also finds love with Jackson (Jackson Douglas), an independent produce supplier, and the two get married during the season two finale. As the series concludes, Jackson and Sookie remain married and expect their third child together.

When Gilmore Girls returned in 2017 for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, viewers learned that Sookie had left the Dragonfly Inn to study vegetables at Blue Hill Farm in New York (Gilmore Girls was set in Connecticut). While Sookie was...

Gilmore Girls: A Complete Timeline Of Lorelai's Jobs (From Independence To Dragonfly)
Image
While Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) is known for her quick wit and sense of humor, she has serious career ambitions on Gilmore Girls and works several different jobs on the series. She fits into a cast of characters who love what they do, from Richard's (Edward Herrmann) high-level insurance position to Luke Danes (Scott Patterson) running his own diner. Although her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel) is often shown to be more studious, with her Ivy League dreams and love of reading, Lorelai has certain goals that she wants to achieve. She rises through the ranks of her industry and starts her own business, which shows her desire to take control.

While Lorelai's Gilmore Girls relationships are the highlight of her arc, she also cares deeply about her career growth. The positions that she holds allow for a deeper look at her spirited and determined personality and the life that she wants to build for herself.

Every Character Who Got Married On Gilmore Girls
Image
Romance is a big part of the nostalgic 2000s series Gilmore Girls, and several characters get married throughout the show's runtime. Each episode tells the story of Lorelai (Lauren Graham) raising her teenage daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel) as Lorelai opens an inn and Rory navigates tricky private school Chilton and then Yale. Their natural banter, diner breakfasts, and compassion for each other are celebrated. However, the characters' love lives are also a focal point, and there are many debates about who is the right partner for the intelligent and funny mother and daughter.

Although she is unmarried when the series opens and is known as a confident and independent character who can take care of herself, Lorelai dates seriously throughout Gilmore Girls, and many other characters find their soulmates as well. There are some iconic memorable weddings in the series and each one changes the characters' lives, leading them to...

Gilmore Girls: The Best Quote In Each Season
Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham in Gilmore Girls (2000)
George Bell, the dialogue coach who worked on Gilmore Girls, told Scott Patterson on his "I'm All In" podcast that he worked closely with Jackson Douglas and Liz Torres on their lines. According to Cheat Sheet, these actors couldn't always recall the words that were in the script. It's fascinating learning more about the process of working on the popular mother/daughter drama since the dialogue is so famous for being so smart and so fast.

While watching Gilmore Girls is always a joy thanks to the great lines in every episode, there is one particularly interesting and exciting quote in each season that serves as a reminder of important plot points and the show's well-crafted characters.

14 Highlights From This Weekend's 'Gilmore Girls' Reunion

Scott Patterson Says a 'Gilmore Girls' Reunion Is (Maybe) in the Works
We're already impatient for the upcoming "Gilmore Girls" reunion slated for Atx Festival next month. But according to one of the series's stars, something else -- perhaps onscreen (?!) -- may be in the works, too.

Scott Patterson, who played curmudgeonly diner owner (and Lorelai's Otp) Luke Danes in the beloved WB/CW series, stopped by a recent episode of the Gilmore Guys podcast to chat about the show and dish out some scoop about a mysterious maybe-reunion that's currently being discussed with the cast. Though Patterson declined to provide any specifics, he told the hosts that hope for an onscreen revival of the seven season series may still be a possibility.

"I don't want to mislead the fans," Patterson told the podcasters. "I will say this, there are talks going on at the moment. I can't really go into any details, but there is some activity. I'm hopeful, and I'm in.

Bunheads: Cast of Cancelled Series Dance Touching Farewell
Bunheads was cancelled long after the last episode of the ABC Family series was filmed so the cast and crew weren't able to give the show a proper series finale.

Series co-creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and some of the show's performers have now filmed a touching "last dance" to say thank you to the fans for all of their support.

The Bunheads video was directed by Sherman-Palladino and the dance was choreographed by Marguerite Derricks. It appropriately references back to memorable dances from the 18-episode series.

The piece stars Julia Goldani Telles (Sasha), Bailey Buntain (Ginny), and Jeanine Mason (Cozette), and also features Matisse Love, Ra’Jahnae “Rae Rae” Patterson, Colleen Craig, Maine Kawashima, Eli Gruska, Adam Bernstein, Edgar Khachaturov, Kara Hess, Micah Moch, Helen Pai, and Jackson Douglas.

Bunheads, Ep. 1.13, “I’ll be your Meyer Lansky”: Gold in them there hills
Bunheads

Season 1, Episode 13, “I’ll be Your Meyer Lansky”

Written by Beth Schrader

Directed by Jackson Douglas

Airs Mondays at 9 pm (Et) on ABC Family

“Every time we have a conversation I feel like I need more movie channels”. Bunheads is probably the only show on TV that could reference Diner in one scene and the totally forgettable film Mobsters in another.

Since Bunheads has returned from its holiday hiatus a couple weeks ago it’s really hit a stride, especially when it comes to the scenes between Michelle (Sutton Foster) and Fanny (Kelly Bishop). One of the best parts of the episode is Michelle and Fanny trying to figure out what to do with their land which leds to one of their ever comical meetings with their boring accountant. Michelle is hoping to find that their sprawling land has a little “gold in them there hills” but instead finds...
