Mr Loverman and Mr Bates vs the Post Office were key winners at the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards, which were handed out in London on Sunday evening. Mr Bates vs. the Post Office pulled off a victory over Netflix's Emmy-winning Baby Reindeer at the 2025 BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday. The ITV drama that dominated U.K. ratings last year tells the story of hundreds of innocent sub-postmasters and postmistresses who were wrongly accused of theft, fraud, and false accounting due to a defective It system.

However, it wasn't all bad news for Baby Reindeer. Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG Award winner Jessica Gunning continued her impressive awards streak, scoring Best Supporting Actress, and bringing the limited series’ total to three wins, including writing and directing victories from the BAFTA TV Craft Awards on April 27.

The UK’s most successful presenting duo, Ant and Dec, signed off their Saturday evening primetime live show after 20 years, going out in style and bidding emotional farewell.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who have been working as a pair since teaming up on childrens TV drama Byker Grove in in the early 1990s, had previously announced this series of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, the 20th, would be the last.

Saturday evening’s show saw a long list of guests including Simon Cowell and pop stars Girls Aloud join Ant and Dec for a final, live singalong of Kool and the Gang’s ‘Celebration’ that took in both interior and exterior settings at London’s Television Centre. Hudd and Wimbush founded Rumpus, which produces shows including “Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back” and “The Misadventures Of Romesh Ranganathan,” in 2013 before steering the ship as joint managing directors.

Rumpus is co-owned by Greenbird Media, who hold a 40% stake in the company. Earlier this year, Greenbird were acquired by Scottish media conglomerate Stv.

Hudd and Wimbush are understood to be planning to set up a new, independent venture which will likely launch next year.

Before co-founding Rumpus, Hudd was an exec producer at Discovery Networks International while Wimbush specialized in comedy entertainment, including a stint as head of development at Gallowgate, the production company owned by “I’m a Celebrity” hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

The actor and little sister of Britney has been announced as a castmember on the latest season of U.K. reality survival show “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” alongside British right-wing politician Nigel Farage and morning show host Josie Gibson.

Farage is best known as the face of Brexit in the U.K. while Gibson is a regular host on troubled ITV daytime show “This Morning.”

“I’m a Celebrity,” which begins on Nov. 19 on U.K. network ITV and is set to last approximately three weeks, sees contestants dropped off in a remote part of the Australian jungle where viewers will vote for them to take on a range of repulsive challenges ranging from eating kangaroo testicles to being immersed in a pit full of creepy crawlies.

Exclusive: UK management agency Ymu is set to make up to 9% of staff redundant following a company review. At the same time, key lender Permira Credit will become its majority shareholder as part of the restructure, we can reveal.

Staff have been informed of the plans internally in the past hour. We hear headcount will be reduced by around 8-9% — up to 32 of Ymu’s 350 employees — and the redundancy process will begin in September. This comes after an independent review of the business by AlixPartners was undertaken to assess routes to a firmer financial footing following a testing post-pandemic period.

Specialist credit investor Permira Credit, which has been a major lender to Ymu, is planning to make what’s thought to be a sizeable investment in the company, and the agency’s leadership team will also equity partners as part of the agreement. Characters from Byker Grove are returning for a follow-up series. The series is being revamped with two former stars, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, as executive producers.

Created by Adele Rose and Andrea Wonfor, the BBC teen drama series debuted in 1989 and was aimed at young adult audience. The story is set in a youth club in the Byker district of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. The series ran for 18 seasons and 344 episodes.

“Byker Grove,” the iconic British teen drama that launched dozens of entertainment careers – as well as unleashed a strangely catchy theme tune on the world – is back.

Seventeen years after the last episode aired on the BBC, “Byker Grove” is returning with two of its former stars – Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, collectively known as Ant and Dec – at the helm. “The Kardashians” producers Fulwell 73 will co-produce alongside McPartlin and Donnelly’s production company Mitre Studios (“Saturday Night Takeaway”).

Originally launching in 1989, “Byker Grove” was set in a Newcastle youthclub and did not shy away from hard-hitting storylines. Among the well-known faces who came up through its ranks were “The Gentleman’s” Charlie Hunnam, former MTV host Donna Air, Jill Halfpenny (“Coronation Street”) and McPartlin and Declan, who played Pj and Duncan. The duo launched a short-lived career in pop music under their characters’ names, Pj and Duncan, before a successful pivot to TV presenting.

ITV primetime hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly – better known by their joint moniker Ant and Dec – have said they plan to “take a break” from their long-running variety show “Saturday Night Takeaway.”

The duo have hosted 19 seasons of the show, which features entertainment and quiz segments, since it launched in 2002. It is produced by ITV Studios-owned Lifted Entertainment and Mitre Studios

This doesn’t spell the end for “Saturday Night Takeaway” however. In 2009 the two hosts also took a break from the show before returning four years later.

Broadcaster ITV – which recently extended its deal with the duo for a reported £30 million ($37 million) for three years – reassured viewers Ant and Dec would continue to front other primetime shows including “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!,” “Britain’s Got Talent” and “Limitless Win.”

Ant and Dec have opened up about the “mischievous” way they introduced Bruno Tonioli to the Britain’s Got Talent family.

The ITV talent show returns this weekend, with former Strictly Come Dancing judge Tonioli joining the panel alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

Speaking ahead of the series, Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly admitted that, during the first day of auditions, they gave the new judge a number of different rules to confuse him.

“We, quite mischievously, kept telling him different rules,” Donnelly told the Pa news agency. “So when he hit his golden buzzer on the first session of the first day, mid-way through an act, we told him not to worry because he had another golden buzzer tomorrow, and that he had one every day.

On Saturday (4 March), the latest episode of the entertainment series was broadcast on ITV, and one segment saw the hosts trick guests at a London Premier Inn while they checked in.

As the hotel customers tried to get their room key, they were instructed to use an automated machine – however, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were hidden just yards away.

However, the presenters were overshadowed by an unsuspecting holidaymaker named Ernest after the pair revealed their identites.
