Shelley Morrison, best known for her role on NBC's Will & Grace, has died.

She was 83.

Morrison's publicist revealed to the Associated Press that the star died of heart failure on Sunday.

The actress was a fan-favorite on Will & Grace. Slated to appear in just one episode, she went on to appear on 68 episodes as Rosario, Karen's housekeeper.

This shows how much of an impact she made on the audience of the NBC comedy.

“Shelley’s greatest pride as an actress was in playing the indomitable Rosario, in a comedy series that furthered the cause of social equity and fairness for Lgbtq people. "She also took pride in portraying a strong, loving yet feisty Latina character,” her husband of 46 years, Walter Dominguez, said in a statement.

Morrison did not return for the 2017 revival, with Rosario dying off-screen during the first season of the revival.

The actress’s career spans 50 years but is best known as the sharp-tongued maid Rosario Salazar from NBC’s Will & Grace who would go head to head with Megan Mullally’s Karen Walker, trading verbal jabs and insults. Shelley Morrison, who played Karen Walker’s sharp-tongued yet endearing maid Rosario Salazar on “Will & Grace” from 1999-2006, has died. She was 83.

Morrison died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from heart failure after a brief illness, Morrison’s publicist, Lori DeWaal, told The Associated Press.

Rosario, who hailed from El Salvador, was originally written to appear in just one episode of the hit NBC series, but her dynamic with Megan Mullally’s Karen resonated so well with audiences that the charater went on to appear in 68 episodes over eight seasons of the original series. According to co-creator Max Mutchnick, Morrison was asked to reprise her role for the revival of “Will & Grace,” but had decided to retire from acting completely.

In fact, Shelley and Megan's professional relationship quickly turned into a close friendship when the now 81-year-old actress was diagnosed with cancer not once, but twice, during the hit series' run.
