Young noble Eddie Horniman uncovers dark family secrets in high-action drama series, "The Gentlemen". Imagine this scenario: your father is a noble person of high rank somewhere in England. Every year, he somehow acquires more wealth for your family than you could ever imagine, but you turn a blind eye to the matter because of your dedication to the country’s army. If this wasn’t all fantastical enough, now add to that a more negative spin to the entire story that has just been drawn up. Unfortunately, you are forced to go back home because the man presiding over the estate (your dad) is in ailing health, on his deathbed, and meets his demise shortly after you arrive.

But that’s not all.

Guy Ritchie’s spin-off television series to his 2019 film The Gentlemen was launched on Netflix earlier this month, and even though all eyes have been on the lead actor, Theo James, there’s a guest star who has had quite a deep connection with video games in the now-distant past.

Peter Serafinowicz stars as Tommy Dixon, who is the brother of Pearce Quigley’s John “The Gospel” Dixon, the leader of the Scouse crime family, which may have been an interesting role to play, but not everyone knows about his much more intriguing collaboration with FromSoftware nearly a decade ago.

In fact, Serafinowicz actually ended up voicing a character in a major Souls-like title after outing himself as a massive fan of the genre.

Episode one of The Gentlemen ended with Freddy getting overwhelmed by the humiliation he was put through and killing Tommy Dixon. Tommy Dixon was adamant about wanting to record Freddy in a chicken costume. Tommy Dixon had reduced the debt on Susie’s request, and the chicken dance was something he wanted in return for it. The second episode would probably have Freddy facing the repercussions of his actions and Eddie again jumping into action to save his brother.

I suppose Guy Ritchie’s name is enough for people to open their Netflix accounts and start streaming the new The Gentlemen series, a crime drama about an aristocrat who gets embroiled in a narcotics racket and tries hard to pull himself out of it to lead a peaceful life on his estate. The show is a Netflix original, was released on March 7, 2024, and is possibly one of the best crime dramas to come out of the streaming platform.
