Edmundo Desnoes(1930-2023)

Renowned Cuban writer, author of the novel Memorias del Subdesarrollo (1968) aka Memories of Underdevelopment, which was adapted into a seminal Latin-American film by the late great Tomás Gutiérrez Alea During the sixties and seventies he also performed as an art critic and wrote many essays. He lives in New York since 1979. in 2007 he published Memorias del desarrollo (2010) a follow up to his 40 year old classic, which was adapted into film by the same name by Miguel Coyula in 2010.
