Netflix has no shortage of compelling content, whether it be movies or series. Over the years, the streaming giant has introduced us to several stories, each with its distinct flair and genre, as well as several characters. From menacing villains to eye-catching antagonists.
Well, Netflix’s Outer Banks has a little bit of both. The action-adventure mystery series, which blends treasure-hunting thrills and teen drama against the backdrop of North Carolina’s sun-drenched coast, features a range of compelling characters whose loyalties, betrayals, and ambitions drive the quest for $400 million in gold.
From reckless heroes to scheming villains, each character has helped shape the show’s addictive narrative, reflecting themes of class, friendship, and survival. However, not all characters have managed to create the same level of impact, with several of them failing to reach their full potential because of several reasons.
Hence, while we patiently wait for the fifth...

Jeff Gordon, the famous NASCAR driver and vice chairman of Hendrick Motorsports, recently shared some exciting news about a sequel to the iconic racing movie Days of Thunder.
When asked about the possibility of a follow-up to the 1990 film, Gordon laughed and said, “I mean, all I can say is … I’ve known Tom [Cruise] for many years, and was on set this past year for Mission: Impossible, and then I went to the premiere. And the first word out of his mouth is, ‘We’re doing it. We’re doing Days of Thunder 2.’”
Gordon made it clear that both he and Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports, fully support the project. He added, “Hendrick Motorsports played a big role in the first Days of Thunder, and we’d love to do the same in this one.”

Brothers Osborne follow up their self-titled 2023 album and last year’s Break Mine EP with the electrifying new rocker “Finish This Drink.” The song is a concise blast of funky country-rock, with shades of the Allman Brothers, some traditional-country fiddle, and lyrics about a bottle that just won’t empty.
“Out of respect, asked for the check/When I hear that long neck clink,” sings Tj Osborne, “Then my brother hands me another/as soon as I finish this drink.”

The Lowdown Drifters aren’t living up to their name. The Fort Worth, Texas, band has been surging since the latter half of 2024.

In October, the Drifters supported Silverada on a run of theaters and large clubs in Western U.S., made their Ryman Auditorium debut as an opener for Shane Smith and the Saints, and dropped the eight-track album In Time, their second full-length record after 2019’s Last Call for Dreamers. Outer Banks season 4 concluded with the devastating death of JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow), and it means season 5 will see everything changed for one character. JJ's tragic death sets up Outer Banks season 5's most personal quest yet for Kiara Carrera (Madison Bailey), who has now lost her boyfriend, and, for the first time, has a direct stake in the game. Previously, Kiara had tagged along with the Pogues on their treasure hunts for moral support, but has had little personal involvement until now.
Outer Banks season 4's treasure hunt for Blackbeard's shipwreck and fabled Blue Crown had personal stakes for JJ after he learns that his real biological parents are Larissa Genrette (Tommi Rose) and Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane). Larissa's father, Wes Genrette (David Jensen), believed his family was cursed with untimely deaths because an ancestor killed the notorious pirate Blackbeard and his wife, then buried her without her precious amulet.

John B. Routledge (Chase Stokes) is the main character of Outer Banks, and he has some of the best quotes on the show. John B is a working-class teenager from the Cut in the titular Outer Banks of North Carolina, and between drinking beer and surfing, serves as the story's narrator. John B has some of the most memorable quotes in Outer Banks because his character finds the balance between youthful recklessness and mature reflection. Outer Banks' cast introduces John B when he is struggling to cope with his father's sudden disappearance.
Like JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow), John B has had brushes with death and has seen many of the darker things life has to offer. At the same time, he is often the group's optimist, encouraging each of the Pogues to know their worth and strive towards their goals.

Outer Banks maintains the record for the most terrible dads by adding Chandler Groff to the list. The show is known for delivering a dangerously exciting treasure hunt that is always intertwined with the Outer Banks characters troubled relationship with their parents. Although Ward Cameron and Big John notably drove most of the conflict in past seasons, the other dads have caused their fair share of trouble. If the Outer Banks season 4 ending made anything clear, is that the Pogues treasure is each other, and theyll do anything to stay together, even when it means going against their families.
Whether they are missing, abusive, deadly, treasure-obsessed, or simply dads who cannot accept their kid's friendships, the Outer Banks parents have never made things easy on the Pogues. When Outer Banks season 4 part 1 introduced a new dad, things were sure to take a dark turn, but they may have exceeded expectations.

Warning! This article contains major Spoilers for Outer Banks season 4, part 2!Though JJs death in Outer Banks season 4 finale came as a massive shock to audiences, the plans for his fate had been laid long before. Over the years, it seemed as if Outer Banks main characters, the Pogues, had enough plot armor and luck to keep them immune from death. Sarah has almost died in every season, with John B, Kiara, and Pope also surviving numerous lethal situations on their treasure hunts over the first four seasons. However, Outer Banks finally took the plunge and killed off JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow), the Pogue-est of all Pogues, in season 4.
A fan-favorite character, John Bs best friend, the wild card, and, eventually, Kiaras boyfriend, not much could have prepared audiences for JJ to be the Pogues first death, especially after Outer Banks revealed JJs real identity and backstory only a few episodes earlier.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead For Outer Banks Season 4.Netflix's Outer Banks season 4 has set up a shocking fifth and final season. Following the tragic death of JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow) of the Pogues in Morocco, his life-long friends are out for revenge on his killer. Outer Banks season 4's ending saw JJ stabbed to death by his biological father, Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane). As season 4 worked to unravel the complicated race for the world's most treasured artifacts, Outer Banks season 5 will likely focus further on the outcome of the multi-season character arcs for the other Pogues through the lens of grief.
Before JJ's death at the close of the season, the Pogues were juggling a variety of issues. Pope Heyward (Jonathan Daviss Jr.) risked jail time for aiding and abetting JJ's escape and was nearly forced to join the Marines. At the same time, Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline) is pregnant...

Outer Banks Season 4 has finally debuted Part 2, and it's been a very tumultuous one for the Pogues. Their characters have once more been slandered with ignominy in Kildare, South Carolina. All they want is to find Blackbeard's Blue Crown and sell it to make money and save their residence: Poguelandia -- a place of free, critical thinking, equality and diversity.
Unfortunately, they run afoul of the Corsair pirates and JJ's evil father, Chandler Groff, two parties who want the relic for themselves. It leads to the Pogues being framed and end up mostly evading these goons. Unfortunately, things go awry when the hunt culminates in a brutal showdown: one that has fans wondering if...

The following contains spoilers for Outer Banks Season 4, now streaming on NetflixOuter Banks has introduced plenty of important artifacts that have ties to real-life history. The show follows the story of a group of working-class teens on the Outer Banks' Kildare Island in North Carolina as they unwittingly find themselves hunting for treasure. The artifacts they find are tied to history and could be the key to a massive fortune. They also attract a constant stream of fellow (and sometimes dangerous) treasure hunters. Much of Outer Banks is based on the real local history of the Outer Banks, including season 4's hunt for Blackbeard's treasure.
A number of other artifacts have been added to the show to increase its tension and stakes, including season 4's focus on Blackbeard's Blue Crown. The artifacts discovered by Outer Banks' characters range from gold and precious jewels to windows into the past through to the characters' ancestors.

Let's get into our review of Outer Banks season 4 episode 10, "The Blue Crown." Major Spoilers Below.

Gosh there's so many moments where Groff could have been killed, but this horrible man has nine lives or something. The first is when he got back into the custody of Dalia and her crew. They should have just killed him right then and there. But no. We wait until Morocco and Lightner is beating him up really good. Honestly, he deserved that and so much more. It was fun watching.

A prevalent theme of Netflix's Outer Banks is the class war between the Pogues and the Kooks, which are the residents' nicknames for the working class and the wealthy citizens, respectively. The dynamics between the Kooks and Pogues are vital to the plot and characters of Outer Banks. Netflix's teen series follows the lives of John B and his friends in North Carolina's Outer Banks, who get into a world of trouble when searching for lost treasure. The island's class warfare, particularly between the Cameron family and John B, complicates the Pogues' hunt for the Royal Merchant's gold in season 1, which continues as the stakes get higher in Outer Banks season 2.
In the world of Outer Banks, characters belong to one of two groups: the Pogues or the Kooks. As John B describes it, residents of Outer Banks either have two jobs (Pogues) or two houses (Kooks). John B...

Outer Banks is one of the best series on Netflix right now, but watching it requires some level of emotional strength, as the drama continues. Throwing the Pogues in another chaotic and dangerous treasure hunt, this new season tackles some more family issues on top of everything else. While Ward Cameron is no more, the toxicity he allowed to seethe through his family continues to poison his children. Rafe, Sarah, and Wheezie are carrying along the burden of their twisted siblinghood. Netflix is no stranger to series that involve family drama and strained relationships, but with Outer Banks, there is a whole ton of that.

In the previous season of Outer Banks, we saw that the Pogues risked their lives and found the treasure of El Dorado. In the process, Big John ended up losing his life, and even Ward sacrificed his life for the sake of her daughter. JJ, John B, Kiara, Sarah, Pope, and Cleo came back safely with gold from El Dorado in their possessions. They wanted to leave the life of adventure behind and not get involved in any sort of treasure hunting. But call it destiny or fate, things didn’t go out as they would have liked, and they felt compelled to go on a mission to find a hidden treasure once again. So let’s take a quick recap of what happened in Outer Banks Season 4 Part 1 and if the Pogues were able to make any sort of breakthrough.

[This story includes major spoilers from Outer Banks season four, part one.]
Outer Banks never fails to deliver shocker after shocker for its main characters and Part One of season four was no different.
The final moments of episode five, “Albatross,” delivered blows to Rudy Pankow’s JJ, Jonathan Daviss’ Pope, Madelyn Cline’s Sarah, Chase Stokes’ John B and the rest of the crew in one form or another.
Part one kicked off with a recap of what the Pogues were up to in the 18 months between returning from their City of El Dorado discovery in season three to when Wes Genrette (David Jensen) approaches them with Blackbeard’s captain log, potentially setting them up for a new treasure hunt.
Over the course of the Part One episodes, the Pogues set up a bait-and-tackle shop, with a charter business for tourists, as well as diving and surf lessons. But the money they got from the...

Warning! This article contains major Spoilers for Outer Banks season 4, part 1!The Pogues are hunting for two of Blackbeards valuable artifacts in Outer Banks season 4, but, like some of their past adventures, the show takes some creative liberties with the treasures historical accuracy. After John B and Sarah successfully found El Dorados gold in Outer Banks season 3s ending, the Pogues are back for another dangerous adventure, having used up their $1 million in gold after 18 months. This time around, theyre hired by Wes Genrette to recover the amulet that Edward Blackbeard Teach gave to his wife, Elizabeth, which also leads them to search for the pirates Blue Crown.

It’s the Pogues vs. Sheriff Shoupe (Cullen Moss) in the first scene of Outer Banks season 4 episode 3, “The Lupine Corsairs.”
At the end of the second episode, the Pogues minus JJ (Rudy Pankow) and Kie (Madison Bailey) stumbled upon an active crime scene. Then, Shoupe starts interviewing John B (Chase Stokes), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant). They actually tell the truth, mostly. Of course, they left out the important part that they actually found Elizabeth’s amulet.
Then, the Pogues bump into the last person to see Wes (David Jensen) alive, Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane), his own son-in-law. And, let’s be real. He’s shady for real for real. He tells Pope and the gang that he intends to honor the deal that Wes made with the Pogues.
At this point in the series, the Pogues are getting pretty good at picking up vibes.

“The Enduro,” the Outer Banks season 4 premiere, picks up in between the events of the season 3 finale. Remember, there was a time jump at the end of season 3. Well, the beginning of Outer Banks season 4 fills in the gaps.
The Pogues catch a ride back from South America and make peace with family after finding the gold at El Dorado and losing Big John (Charles Halford) and Ward Cameron (Charles Esten). Things aren’t totally smooth sailing with everyone, but the gold that Sarah (Madelyn Cline) and John B (Chase Stokes) were able to take from the lost city in their backpack was worth $1.1 million.

As Outer Banks season 4 drops on Netflix, it's important to rewind to season 3 and remember where the show left off. Outer Banks will continue to focus on the Pogues, romance, and quests that offer a unique look into real-life history. Now home in the titular Outer Banks with a massively successful discovery under their belt, the Pogues find themselves are about to embark on another mission.
Last season, the Pogues of Outer Banks journeyed in search of El Dorado. The quest resulted in the death of one of the show's original villains, Ward Cameron, and the gold that would lift several of the Pogues out of poverty on Kildare Island. These developments, along with several other key events, provide the framework for the character arcs sure to follow in Outer Banks season 4.

Warning: Contains Spoilers for Outer Banks season 3!The Pogues' latest adventure to El Dorado concludes with a giant treasure hunt and major deaths, as the Outer Banks season 3 ending wraps up huge storylines and sets up season 4. Netflix debuted season 3 in 2023 and built upon Outer Banks season 2's ending. The Pogues' attempt to return home after a botched attempt to get the Cross of Santo Domingo leads them directly into the search for the legendary city of El Dorado. It's a complicated journey that includes the reunion between John B and Big John, blossoming romances among the Pogues, and the Camerons fighting for legacy.
The season 3 ending is set primarily in South America as storylines build and everyone converges around the presumed site of El Dorado in Outer Banks. This does not come without another classic Ward Cameron betrayal, while new villain Carlos Singh dies in pursuit of the gold riches.

When it comes to Outer Banks, there are some things you can always count on: high-speed chases, swoon-worthy romance, and epic action.
Thanks to some truly jaw-dropping surprises and the team’s biggest treasure hunt yet, Season 3 takes all of that to the next level. And by next level, we’re talking Barbados, South America, and even (gasp) a party full of Kooks.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. If you need a quick reminder on where things left off at the end of Season 2, our perpetual treasure-hunting friends the Pogues, led by John B (Chase Stokes), were set adrift in the ocean on a small boat after failing to steal the Cross of Santo Domingo back from evil Rafe (Drew Starkey) and Ward (Charles Esten). The Pogues will be setting sail on their next adventure in Outer Banks Season 4, but the chill, consequence-free life they once knew is no more. Despite an 18-month time jump, John B (Chase Stokes) and Sarah (Madelyn Cline) will still be dealing with the fallout of the Season 3 finale in Season 4. “Anytime you experience loss, it hits in spaces and in places that you don’t anticipate,” Stokes tells People. “Being in the situation that John B and Sarah are in, it really will force them to evaluate everything. Where they are, what their purpose is, what their intentions are, and what was the actual value of it? Was it worth it, in hindsight? If they could go back and change things, would they? Or do they feel okay with it?” Sarah and John B lost their fathers on the same day and had to watch them die in front of their eyes.

Season 4 of Outer Banks must keep the Pogues in North Carolina to stay true to the show's roots. The upcoming episodes shouldn't revive dead characters like Ward and Big John to maintain the series' shocking impact. Outer Banks season 4 should introduce a compelling new villain to replace Ward.
Outer Banks is undeniably one of Netflix's most-watched original series, but season 3 was met with mixed reviews from critics and viewers alike, so season 4 must embrace a few changes to get the show back on track. The action-adventure teen drama series, created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke, premiered in 2020 and became an instant hit, resulting in a season 2 renewal just a few months following its release. The second season performed just as well as the first, so a third one was in order. However, the show partly fell off during the 2023 episodes.
Once viewers finished season 3, some were upset.

The 2001 cult classic horror remake "Thirteen Ghosts" has a dedicated following for a reason: it's a brutally nasty, deeply creative horror film that creates its own unique mythology and utilizes it to tell a surprisingly heartfelt story. The movie follows bereaved widower Arthur Kriticos (Tony Shalhoub) and his family after he inherits a mysterious mansion from his ghost hunter uncle Cyrus (F. Murray Abraham). Unfortunately for Arthur, the mansion is absolutely murderous.
The end of the film pulls each of the 12 ghosts trapped within the mansion together for a bizarre ritual to make Cyrus immortal that requires the titular thirteenth ghost to work -- but things don't go as planned for crafty ole' Cyrus and he's torn apart by the very souls he was going to sacrifice. The new film Herd by Steven Pierce is a messy zombie thriller that tries too hard to be too focused on the human elements in its storytelling. Written alongside James Allerdyce, Pierce has failed to give the film a consistent vision. At one point, the story revolves purely around the lesbian couple Jamie and Alex. The segment dragged on, and then suddenly the zombie plot resumed. There is also a pseudo-dystopian drama in the middle of it all, and there are moments between characters that seem too random to be appreciated, even though they may have been acted well. The story begins with Jamie and Alex going out canoeing with the motive of mending their broken relationship. Things go south, and the couple is forced to seek help from the locals, who have their own idea of dealing with the ‘Heps’.

Because of the nature of the show, the Outer Banks characters are frequently in danger, but does fan-favorite character Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline) actually die in Outer Banks season 3? Singing in Western movies is as old as the genre itself, and many famous singers have starred in Western movies with one of their biggest stars, John Wayne. The Duke was a titanic figure in the genre ever since his star-making role in Stagecoach in 1939, and he dominated the box office throughout the '40s and well into the '50s, but as the '60s approached, his star power had waned a little.
