An artist and illustrator,he placed 3rd in a national Post Cereal Cartoon Contest at the age of 11.

Aug.13, 1977, "The Deacon" was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records for 'kissing' 2,400 girls (and monkey) with 6,153 lip-locks on the shores of Myrtle Beach, SC. However, he was denied a spot in the book by an Indiana competitor one month before the book was published in November of that year.
