Biography

    • John S. Davies was born in Regensburg, Germany, to Richard, an American diplomat and his wife Jean Davies. He grew up in American Embassies all over the world and in and around Washington, DC. He graduated San Jose State University in 1978 with a Bachelor's Degree in Theater and moved to Dallas, Texas, to pursue a Master of Fine Arts degree with the renowned Paul Baker at the Dallas Theater Center. Davies was awarded the MFA in June 1982 and has since pursued acting, directing and teaching careers. In addition to his extensive film and TV work, he has appeared in more than 60 professional theatre productions in roles ranging from Prospero in "The Tempest" to Willy Brandt in Michael Frayn's "Democracy." Davies also directs theatre-recent productions include "Richard III: for Shakespeare Dallas and "T Bone N Weasel" for Circle Theatre Ft Worth. He is represented by the Kim Dawson Agency (214-638-2414) and teaches college-level acting at KD Actors Conservatory. He is married to the TV News Coach Lou Michaels and is the father of two sons Rees, 29, a professional guitarist and Kelley, 23, a free spirit.
