Mitchell Danton at Netflix FYSEE24
Primetime Emmy and ACE Eddie Award-winning editor Mitchell Danton was born in Burbank and grew up in the Hollywood Hills. He's the son of the late actor/director Ray Danton and actress Julie Adams (best remembered as the lovely Kay in the Universal classic "Creature from the Black Lagoon").

Mitch spent much of his childhood and teenage years observing the editing process on television shows and movies that his father directed. This inspired an early interest in film editing that led him to attend the USC School of Cinema/Television, where he graduated magna cum laude and earned Phi Beta Kappa honors.

Since graduation, Mitch has edited more than 200 hours of episodic television, including the Fox hit "Beverly Hills, 90210," the Western, "Christy" and the WB critical darling "Dawson's Creek." He was an editor on several television pilots as well, most notably "Saving Grace," starring Holly Hunter.

In the early 2000s he was nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards for outstanding picture editing on the hit reality show "Survivor." Following up on this recognition by his peers, in 2007, he won an ACE Eddie Award and a Primetime Emmy Award for the powerful and realistic ABC miniseries, "The Path to 9/11." The next year, he edited the well-reviewed bank heist miniseries, "The Kill Point" starring John Leguizamo and Donnie Wahlberg.

Staying in-demand as one of TV's top editors, Mitch edited multiple episodes of "In Plain Sight" starring Mary McCormack, an action/comedy for USA Network. After that, he worked on another 1-hour comedy series called "Greek," for ABC Family. In 2011 he became an editor on the Peabody Award-winning drama series "Switched at Birth," and edited numerous episodes during the show's five-season run.

His passion for film editing inspired him to join American Cinema Editors and write a book about the art and craft of editing in 2015 called "Cutting It in Hollywood." The book included an introduction by three-time Academy Award-winning editor Michael Kahn, ACE. On the heels of the book's success, Mitch edited the Bravo comedy-drama series "Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce" for three seasons. In 2018, he adapted his mother Julie Adams autobiography into a tribute film titled "The Lucky Southern Star: Reflections from the Black Lagoon." He co-directed this twenty-minute movie with his brother Steve and produced and edited it as well. In the past few years, Mitch edited the indie film "Cowboy Drifter," as well as episodes of "Absentia" for Amazon Prime, "FBI: Most Wanted" for CBS and "Walker" for the CW.
