German actress and drama coach, trained under Olga Limburg and Ilka Grüning. Appeared as lead or second lead in films from 1929, though she remained primarily a stage actress. Dannhoff also provided the German dubbing voice for actresses Katharine Hepburn and Elizabeth Sellars. From 1966, she taught acting at the Max-Reinhardt-Schule für Schauspiel in Berlin.

Besides her activity as an actress she also worked as an acting teacher and introduced many future actors and actresses to this art form.

She experienced her career height in the 30's. She was convincing in "Berge in Flammen" (1931) and "An heiligen Wassern" (1932) before she had her breakthrough with the movie "Der Rebell" (1932).

During wartime she didn't work in any movies. She only continued her film career in the 50's.

The actress Erika Dannhoff began her film career already in the silent movie era.

She kept active till the old age and was normally working for television from the 60's.
