His father-in-law James Best was the boyfriend of Damian's acting mentor Jeanne Cooper.

It was his performance on Bandstand (1952) in 1981 that impressed the producers of Les feux de l'amour (1973). They were looking to add the character of a young rock star to the cast and created Danny Romalotti after seeing him perform.

Played "Joseph" in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" on Broadway. It was also written into the Y&R script.

His acting mentor was the late Jeanne Cooper.
