    Dark-haired American actress, on stage with the Charles Frohman company from 1898 and on Broadway the following year. She had a significant theatrical career which lasted until 1948 and included appearing with George Arliss in two productions of "Disraeli" (1912 and 1917). She later recreated her role as Mrs. Travers for the 1921 film version. Preferring the theatre, she rarely made screen appearances after the arrival of sound.
