Larry Daggett is an American actor and music director based in New York City. He has enjoyed a long career in the theatre on Broadway, off-Broadway, New York City Opera, and over thirty professional regional theaters. Major credits include the original Broadway production of "Ragtime", four productions of "My Fair Lady", four productions of "Man of La Mancha", four productions of "The Full Monty", three productions of "Souvenir", and so on. His MFA is from Florida State University/The Asolo Theatre, he is a graduate of The Grove School of Music (Composition/Orchestration major) and the Commercial Theatre Institute (lead by Tom Viertel). Although much of his career has been as an actor, he has a separate resume as a music director and composer-lyricist for multiple award-winning new musicals. His current musical in progress is "Bullet Points", which addresses the effect that gun violence in schools has on teachers, students, and the country. The mission statement for his production company, New Tune Entertainment, mirrors his personal mission: "to make new art in a classical format that will make the audience sing as well as think, laugh as well as question their beliefs."
