Netflix's long-gestating Assassin's Creedseries has finally been revealed by the streamer. The live-action adaptation of the iconic video game franchise recently got an exciting production update, but Netflix has now officially given the project a series order. Netflix announced that they have greenlit Assassin's Creed, with Roberto Patino (Dmz) and David Wiener (Halo) set as creators, showrunners, and executive producers. The show, which has spent five years in development, comes to fruition with a stacked creative crew bolstered by Patino and Weiner. Netflix is working closely with the Film & Television arm of Ubisoft, the publisher behind the best-selling video games. Christopher Nolan thinks one of his biggest movies didn’t get the love it deserved. He recently talked about The Dark Knight Rises and called it an underrated film in his career. In his own words, “I don’t have a favorite of any of my films, but I think The Dark Knight Rises is an underrated movie. There are things in there that we did that are pretty subversive and pretty shocking. It’s as close as I’ll get to adapting A Tale of Two Cities.” Nolan believes there’s more going on in the movie than people usually talk about, and he sees it as more meaningful than most viewers give it credit for.

The Dark Knight Rises came out in 2012 and closed out Nolan’s Batman trilogy. The story takes place eight years after The Dark Knight. Bruce Wayne has disappeared from the public and given up being Batman.
