She came from a theatrical family -- the daughter of stage actor Frank Kemble-Cooper and Alice May (Taunton) Kemple-Cooper, and the sister of actors Greta Kemble-Cooper, Anthony Kemble-Cooper, and Lillian Kemble-Cooper. She appeared onstage from 1905 (on Broadway, 1912-34) and appeared in a few Hollywood films.
