Hallmark has announced the premiere of The Way Home Season 3. However, some fans may be surprised to learn where they can watch the new season of this multi-generational family series. This series stars Andie MacDowell, Chyler Leigh, Evan Williams, and Sadie Laflamme-Snow.

On Monday, TV Line reported that The Way Home Season 3 has an official premiere date. The hit time-travel series premieres on Thursday January 2, 2025. Moreover, this is not the Hallmark Channel premiere date. Season 3 is premiering on Hallmark+, the rebranded streaming channel.

Furthermore, the announcement revealed that there will be a Hallmark Channel premiere date, but it will be in the Fall 2025.

The Way Home is coming to Hallmark+, the company’s new subscription streaming service and membership rewards program. The series, starring Andie MacDowell, Chyler Leigh, Evan Williams and Sadie Laflamme-Snow, will launch its third season on Thursday, Jan. 2 exclusively on the streamer, ahead of its Hallmark Channel debut in fall 2025.

Since its second-season premiere on January 21, The Way Home has been a hit for Hallmark Channel. It is the No. 1 most-watched program overall on entertainment cable among homes, viewers and women and persons 18+.

MacDowell, Leigh, Williams and Laflamme-Snow all return for Season 3, with new cast members Julia Tomasone (Ghostwriter) and Jordan Doww (Ganymede) portraying the teen versions of Del (MacDowell) and Colton (Jefferson Brown), while Devin Cecchetto (The Parker Andersons/Amelia Parker) joins the cast as Teen Evelyn.

The Way Home Season 3 has set a date, but with one major change: The fantasy drama is set to return Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025, but is jumping over to Hallmark+, the company’s new streaming platform, TVLine has confirmed.

Speaking at the Atx Television Festival panel, via Variety, Alexandra Clarke, The Way Home’s showrunner revealed there will be a time leap forward following Season 2’s close. What’s the reason for this?

Clarke notes ties to “real-life” elements, stating, “We definitely can confirm that we do have to do a time jump, purely because of when we shoot … We left them, obviously, in November of 2024, and we’re going to be shooting in August. “We start at the end and then kind of work backward. We had a wonderful plan right from the start when Marly Reed created the show and wrote a beautiful bible for it. “Norman Lear’s TV for the People: Script Reading and Conversation” will honor the legendary television producer and activist, who died in December 2023, with a night of comedy and conversation. When mother-daughter showrunners Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke began working on “The Way Home” with creator Marly Reed, they didn’t intentionally set their sites on the world of “Alice in Wonderland.” Instead, it came completely natural.

“As we started looking at this show and the concept, it became so much clearer to us how oddly echoing it all was to the book, and we sort of thought well, if it’s there, let’s use it. It’s a story about a girl that literally falls down the rabbit hole into a whole other world and is trying to make sense of what she’s seeing and of her adventures there,” Alexandra tells Variety.
