(1960s) Rufus was a member of The Living Theatre, a vanguard experimental acting troupe founded by Julian Beck and his wife Judith Malina, based in Manhattan and whose performance tours were worldwide. Its productions with Rufus include "The Brig," "Mysteries and Other Pieces," "Antigone," "Frankenstein" and "Paradise Now."
