Gilmore Girls: What Happened To Brad?
Image
Rory (Alexis Bledel) meets many memorable characters during her time at Chilton, but why does her classmate Brad Langford (Adam Wylie) leave Gilmore Girls? Brad is a nervous but intelligent student who first appears in season 2, and his insecurities make him stand out when compared to other students, from confident Madeline Lynn (Shelly Cole) and Louise Grant (Teal Redmann) to mean-spirited Frankie Jarvis (Emily Bergl). While Rory and Brad don't become friends, she sees a kindred spirit in him as they both accept the fact that they don't fit in, and they are both different from the people around them.

Brad is one of the best Chilton side characters in Gilmore Girls because, through his interactions with a main character on the series, he shows growth. Brad is given a short but captivating arc, and he is an unforgettable part of Rory's years at the competitive private high school she...

Can you say Nightmare on Elm Street knock-off? Psychic's Wrong Amanda Berry Prediction Returns To Haunt Her
Celebrity psychic Sylvia Browne is doing damage control over a prediction made nearly 10 years ago claiming Ohio kidnapping victim Amanda Berry was dead, but her actions may represent a watershed moment in how Americans view psychics.

"The [Ariel Castro abduction] is a test case for all psychics," said Joe Nickell, editor of Skeptical Inquirer, a magazine that encourages science-based analysis of paranormal and fringe-science claims. "Why didn't one psychic wake up in the middle of the night and know where they were?"

Browne told Louwana Miller, the mother of Amanda Berry, on "The Montel Williams Show" in 2004: "She’s not alive, honey. Your daughter’s not the kind who wouldn’t call," The Atlantic Wire reported. Berry was kidnapped 10 years ago and was found alive on Monday.

Browne responded with an official statement to The Huffington Post earlier this week that included this line: "Only God is right all the time."

It takes a... Village Barbershop: Chris Ford, Shelly Cole and Amos Glick.
Co-winner of the Audience Award at the Cinequest Film Festival, The Village Barbershop is one of those little indie films you can't help but root for. Variety's Dennis Harvey wrote: "Feeling as crustily comfortable as its titular environ, Village Barbershop is an old-hat story -- curmudgeon grudgingly takes in brash youth, with eventual life-enhancing benefits for both. But in this case, the old hat is well worn, and debuting writer-director Chris Ford has blown most of the dust off. Result is a cannily low-key charmer."

It stars John Ratzenberg (still most famous for his long-running role as Cliff Claven on Cheers, but who has also made quite a career out of doing fine voice work for many Pixar features) as that curmudgeon, a small-town haircutter whose melancholy, and rigid, life is altered when a woman shows up looking for a job as his other barber. The film was shot in...

Darin Scott, whom you may know as one of the minds behind Tales From The Hood, dropped us a line today with a batch of stills (some of which are exclusive) from his new film, Dark House, and I have to say ... this flick looks really, really badass!

Dark House stars Jeffrey Combs, Meghan Ory, Danso Gordon, Bevin Prince, Shelly Cole, Matt Cohen, Scott Whyte, Ryan Melander, Meghan Maureen McDonough and Scotty Noyd, Jr.; and the plot is as follows:

After being traumatized by a terrifying event in her youth, Claire Thompson (Ory) tries to come to terms with her demons by revisiting the old house where a terrible children's massacre took place. The hitch? The place is now being used as a haunted house attraction set up by Walston Rey (Combs). When the home, formerly run by the evil Miss Darrode (Salinger), is set to open for the press,...

Cheri Lovedog
Prey for Rock and Roll
Cheri Lovedog
Opens

Friday, Sept. 26

NEW YORK -- An undeniable air of authenticity permeates this indie effort about an all-girl punk rock band, co-written by Cheri Lovedog based on her own experiences and directed by veteran music supervisor Alex Steyermark. While the story line often comes uncomfortably close to melodrama, "Prey for Rock and Roll", opening Sept. 26 in Los Angeles, is an entertaining and sometimes even moving portrait of a veteran band that never quite hits the big time. Although the film will have to face the commercial hurdle faced by most rock-themed efforts, the sexy and charismatic star presence of Gina Gershon in yet another lesbian role shouldn't hurt at all.

Gershon plays Jacki, the 40-year-old lead guitarist and singer of a female punk rock band, which despite many years of effort, is still playing L.A. clubs and dives in search of that ever-elusive record contract. The band's other members are bassist Tracy (Drea De Matteo), who has problems with both drugs and men

lead guitarist Faith (Lori Petty), who augments her income by teaching guitar to highly untalented if enthusiastic teens

and drummer Sally (Shelly Cole), Faith's sweet younger lover.

Among the various plot elements in Lovedog and Robin Whitehouse's meandering screenplay, based on a stage play by the former, is the arrival of "Animal" (Marc Blucas), Sally's older brother, who has just been released from prison after serving a murder sentence. The heavily tattooed and muscular Animal initially seems a threatening figure, but he turns out to be a virginal nice guy who quickly develops the hots for the older Jacki. Uninterested at first, Jacki, who happens to run her own tattoo parlor, soon finds herself drawn to the gentle ex-con, whose crime turns out to have been highly personal in nature.

It's only 'Rock,' but MAC likes it
Indie distributor MAC Releasing has snapped up North American distribution rights to Alex Steyermark's directorial debut Prey for Rock and Roll, starring Gina Gershon. Rock also stars Drea De Matteo, Lori Petty, Shelly Cole, Marc Blucas and Ivan Martin in the story of a contemporary Los Angeles all-girl punk band -- led by Gershon's character -- struggling to make it while personal forces threaten to tear them apart. Gershon sings all of her own songs live in the rock-heavy film and is planning to go on a club tour this year performing original music from the film live. MAC, in association with Samy Boy Pictures, is scheduling a late summer/early fall 2003 platform release.
