- One of the original cast members on the first three episodes of Saturday Night Live (1975) in 1975. After that, he made several more uncredited appearances on the show during the first season, including the prison warden in the classic Lifer Follies sketch.
- Entire eight season of Archer was dedicated to him. The story line was finding who killed his character Woodhouse.
- Served for two years as vice president of the Screen Actor's Guild.
- He died on the same day as his L'Emprise (1982) co-star Alex Rocco: July 18, 2015.
