She was awarded Dame of Malta and Dame of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre.

Mother of Carol Higgins Clark, two judges and a daughter who works on the Merchantile Exchange.

She was awarded Dame of the Order of St. Gregory the Great, a Papal honor.
