  • Robert "Bob" Christopher was born on May 29, 1922 in Jersey City, New Jersey to parents Maria and Anthony Esposito. Bob graduated from James J. Ferris High School in 1941 where he first developed his passion for acting. He further refined his theatrical talents and skills while attending the Feagin School of Dramatic Art in New York City. His pursuit of an acting career was interrupted with his decision to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corp and serve his country during World War II where he saw action in the South Pacific through the end of the war. After only two television acting parts in 1952 and 1953, Bob got his first big screen part appearing in the "Barefoot Contessa" starring Humphrey Bogart and Ava Gardner in 1954 followed by "Bedeviled" starring Ann Baxter in 1955. He went on to produce or appear in more than sixty movies and television programs that spanned over the next twenty five years. Between acting jobs, Bob began a second career at Executive Car Leasing and quickly rose to Vice President working with many entertainment celebrities -- such as Marvin Gaye and Sigourney Weaver as well as Las Vegas hotel executives and the Teamsters Union. Up until a month before his death, at age 93, a longtime Hollywood Hills resident, Bob's daily routine included stopping at the Executive Leasing office and then have lunch at Marco's Restaurant in West Hollywood with his close friends. Robert Christopher passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, November 27th at 12:15 p.m. PST. surrounded by his beloved Patty, close friends and his caregiver. He was predeceased by his parents, first wife Lynette Christopher, sister Maria Whalen, nephew Mathew Whalen of New Jersey.
