He is Yash & Pamela's younger son, his elder brother being film producer Aditya Chopra. He is an Indian film actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. Chopra started his film career by assisting his father Yash in the films Lamhe (1991), Parampara (1993), Darr (1993), and Dil To Pagal Hai (1997).

He also assisted his elder brother Aditya in his debut film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge aka DDLJ (1995), which became one of the largest grossers in the year of its release.

Chopra made a successful debut as an actor, under his elder brother's direction in Mohabbatein (2000), which was one of the top-grossing films of the year.

He also played the lead character with Neal 'N' Nikki (2005). After the super success of Dhoom, its sequel Dhoom 2 (2006) also had a stellar performance by the youngest scion of the Chopra family. (200 Not many are aware that Sanjay Gadhvi was supposed to start KIDNAP for Yash Raj, soon after MERE YAAR KI SHAADI HAI in 2002. Sanjay Gadhvi stated "I wanted to make it with Sanjay Dutt and Uday Chopra, but when Sanju expressed his inability to shell out bulk dates [he was busy till 2004], Adi [Aditya Chopra] suggested a stop-gap film with actors who were easily accessible then. No one knew that the stop-gap film [DHOOM] would turn out to be such a rage, a trend-setter," Sanjay Gadhvi smiles. DHOOM 2 followed, since DHOOM became a brand. And when Gadhvi decided to make KIDNAP for Ashtavinayak, he approached Sanju yet again. "KIDNAP had to be made with Sanju only. I couldn't imagine anyone else in that role. This time, he agreed instantly," Gadhvi reminisces. The choice for the parallel lead [to be essayed by Uday Chopra six years ago] was a tough one. "Shibani Bathija [the writer] suggested that I take a look at Aamir Khan's nephew. She had heard that he was keen on movies. The moment Imran entered the office, I knew I had found Kabir [the character in KIDNAP]. It took me 3 seconds to arrive at this decision. Till then, I wasn't even aware that he had acted in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na."
