New audio label launches a ‘quiet revolution’: Mayana Meditations
Image
[On June 3, No Mask Media launches its first production: Mayana Meditations. The new independent podcast label was founded by Manon van der Knaap-Hartig, known for her work in building podcast portfolios at Bnr and Dpg Media, two leading Dutch commercial media organizations. With No Mask Media, she shifts focus to the next phase: intentional, meaningful audio.

The weekly English-language series embraces silence, authenticity, and sensory calm — a deliberate contrast to the noise of constant opinions, information, and self-improvement narratives.

“People want to simply be, without masks,” says Van der Knaap-Hartig. “When nothing has to be suppressed, things start to move.”

The voice of the podcast is Mayana: a voice alchemist and international speaker with over 20 years of experience in consciousness work. She has worked with thousands across the globe and shared stages with figures such as Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, and Masaru Emoto.

“We are chronically overstimulated,” says Mayana. “This podcast is a gentle prompt to reconnect with presence — beneath the pressure to constantly improve.”

For Brands: Less Noise, More Resonance

Mayana Meditations fits within a broader shift toward slower, purpose-driven content.

Joan Rivers’ 11 Spiciest Celebrity Burns
Image
“I hate everyone, starting with me.”

Hating the world wasn’t only an attitude for Joan Rivers — it was the subject of a 2012 book in which she filled 260 pages with comic vitriol. Some of her disdain was broad — “I hate children,” “I hate old people” and “I hate waiters who introduce themselves,” for example. But she saved plenty of venom for the celebrities who got under her skin. Here are 11 celebrities who got smacked around by Joan Rivers in I Hate Everyone… Starting with Me.

1 Tom Cruise

“No 5-foot-8 man, not even one who lives on a diet of Ritalin and gin, is happy like that all the time. He’s always got this shit-eating grin on his face, like he just got a note from his managers telling him that Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman are extending their confidentiality agreements.”

2 Goldie Hawn

Image
Forty years after putting down the Power Station broom and picking up the microphone, Jon Bon Jovi is in an introspective mood.

The man who co-wrote iconic songs including “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Keep the Faith” is preparing for the release of Hulu’s four-part docuseries Thank You, Goodnight, directed by Gotham Chopra.

Initially planned as a career retrospective around the band’s 40th anniversary – Bon Jovi’s eponymous album was released on January 21, 1984 – the series added another element to the story, that of its lead singer’s health issues that have raised question marks about the band’s future.

Thank You, Goodnight, which premieres April 26, highlights the highs and lows of being in a band, the drugs and the difficulties of remaining successful and wanting to evolve but not wanting to alienate its audience, in addition to its leader’s health issues. It’s not a “VH1 puff piece,...

How Kobe Bryant Helped Religion of Sports Cofounder Gotham Chopra Discover His Passion
Image
As a first-generation American born and raised in New England, Gotham Chopra was always obsessed with two things: storytelling and sports.

“For me, sports in Boston was just an obsession. It was a way of becoming American,” the Religion of Sports cofounder told TheWrap for this week’s Office With a View. “As I grew up, I was just one of those kids who loved stories, who got obsessed with cameras and I was a writer by background.” (It probably didn’t hurt that his father is noted author Deepak Chopra.)

Chopra’s first job out of college was a Channel One reporter covering international conflict, which allowed him to travel to Chechnya, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Colombia, Iran and Iraq. But he yearned to have a career that had the ability to unite sports and storytelling.

Deepak Chopra On Psychedelics Doc Series ‘Open Minds,’ And His Own LSD Experiences: “It Had A Great Impact On My Mind”
Image
Count Deepak Chopra among the medical experts who see enormous promise in psychedelic substances like psilocybin or “magic mushrooms.”

“I think psychedelics might wake us up,” Chopra says in the new documentary short series Open Minds. “And if they do, then maybe we can reengineer the world.”

The six-part series, directed by Robert Schober, becomes available Tuesday on major VOD platforms through Altrd.TV.

“It is becoming obvious that psychedelics do decrease inflammation, do restore what we might call homeostasis or self-regulation, do alleviate the symptoms of depression, anxiety, and even suicidal ideation,” Chopra tells Deadline, “and do have a role, as we move into the future, of alleviating a lot of suffering in both chronic physical disease and chronic mental disease.”

Psilocybin mushrooms.

For decades, the U.S. government has classified psilocybin, LSD, peyote, Mdma and other psychedelics as Schedule 1 drugs without any medical benefit. That classification stymied research, but in...

John Lydon lashes out at Meghan and Harry: ‘Shut up’
Image
Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon has shared his thoughts about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following Prince Harry’s confirmation of attendance at King Charles III’s coronation next month.

The British-born punk musician, also known by his stage name Johnny Rotten, lives just 60 miles away from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Montecito, California home. After the couple stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, the two relocated their family to Markle’s home state of California. Since then, they’ve shared several bombshell revelations about their time in the royal family – from their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, to their six-part Netflix docuseries, to Harry’s memoir, Spare.

In an interview with The Telegraph published on 12 April, Lydon expressed his sympathy with Harry and Meghan’s decision to leave the United Kingdom. However, he admitted that he doesn’t “like the noise they’re making” since walking away from the royal family.

Every Mike Myers Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
Image
Mike Myers movies saw the former Saturday Night Live alum rise to fame during the early 1990s, thanks to his catchphrase-laden sense of humor and repertoire of hit sketch comedy characters and silly impersonations. After establishing his film career with Wayne’s World, Myers began to experiment with new characters as well as the occasional small role in dramatic films such as 54 and Pete’s Meteor. It was clearly comedy where his strengths lay, however, and his creation of the silly 1960s-era spy known as Austin Powers led to a franchise that ruled the latter half of the 90s and early 2000s.

From the success of the Austin Powers movies, Myers found his way into animation, voicing the rough around the edges, yet lovable, ogre Shrek in Dreamworks’ wildly successful franchise of the same name. Today a quick glance at Myers’ acting resume reveals a star whose later years are...

Mike Myers ‘Knows Nothing About’ a ‘Love Guru’ Crew Member Being Fired for Looking Him in the Eyes, Says Actor’s Rep
Image
Mike Myers “knows nothing” about a recent claim that alleges he had a crew member on “The Love Guru” fired because he looked at him straight in the eyes. Vancouver radio DJ Jay Brody caused a stir on social media when he shared a video of Keanu Reeves helping move production equipment on the set of “John Wick: Chapter 4.”

“People saying that ‘[Keanu] shouldn’t be praised for helping’ have no idea what it’s like working in film,” Brody posted on Twitter. “Mike Myers had me fired off the set of ‘The Love Guru’ because I made eye contact with him, and I was there as his bodyguard…give Keanu his roses.”

Brody later clarified in a follow-up video that he was not Myers’ direct bodyguard on set but worked for the film security unit on the set of “The Love Guru,” Myers’ infamous 2008 flop co-starring Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake.

Relive Alicia Keys's Love Story With Swizz Beatz in Honor of His 44th Birthday
Image
One of music's cutest and most talented pairs, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, haven't always been the loved-up, carefree couple they appear as today. In fact, if we rewind to their early romance, it involves a bit of scandal.

The piano-playing Grammy winner actually met Swizz Beatz - whose given name is Kasseem Dean - when they were both teenagers, she told Marie Claire UK in 2013. It wasn't love at first sight, though. "Everything with him is really over the top. I used to see him and think, 'He is so annoying,'" she told the magazine.

And while her team tried to get her to work with the producer and DJ professionally, she resisted because she just didn't vibe with him. Once she gave in, though, it went better than she expected, and she told Marie Claire UK that they "had a ball" together.

Hot Docs Fest Teases ‘Breaking the Brick’ From ‘Chicago Boys’ Directors
Image
Cognizant of the ever-raw emotion elicited by monumental civil unrest, Chilean producer-directors Carola Fuentes and Rafael Valdeavellano glimpse boldly into the Neoliberal structures that seemingly divided and destroyed a nation’s prosperity.

With a lens on the uphill battle to achieve a semblance of peace amidst a global pandemic, a country makes an historic and eager leap towards progress, a new constitution and leader at the fore.

“Breaking The Brick” dutifully follows the pair’s 2015 feature-length documentary, “Chicago Boys,” which interviewed authors in charge of drafting El Ladrillo, a Neoliberal free market text-turned economic model influenced by Milton Friedman and instituted by the Pinochet dictatorship. Though touted as a miraculous way to bring prosperity to Chile, the system eventually drew criticism when the public saw wealth disparities spiral.

The film begins with a delicate yet forceful metaphor that equates the populace to the cells within a caterpillar that have to...
