Kate Cheeseman is a highly experienced BAFTA and RTS Award Winning Director, having won multiple prizes for both her television and film directing including Best Short Awards at many Oscar and BAFTA recognised festivals. She combines a sound sense of script development with a creative and imaginative approach to realising stories on screen. Her experience working with actors creates a secure and inventive environment on set, combined with her ability to understand the technical aspects of film making. She has directed period drama, thrillers, procedural and action based series, as well as comedy to rave reviews and pick of the day articles.

Her most recent credits include Mallorca Files for Amazon Prime, lead director on the much anticipated series 6 premier of Outlander for Lionsgate receiving rave reviews, Doc Martin for ITV receiving multiple rave reviews and the BAFTA winning show, Call the Midwife. Her short What Happened to Evie won prizes around the world and recently screened on Dutch Television at Christmas, as part of the United Nation Women's campaign, Orange the World.

Kate began her career at the BBC working on a David Attenborough series before moving into investigative journalism helping win a multi-million award for a victim of medical negligence. After producing and directing in factual, she started directing fiction, winning awards for a series about the WW1 poets and working with future stars Tom Hollander, Alex Jennings and Sam West. She now works in high-end television and is attached to direct a number of feature films.

A film that tests our perceptions and leaves us questioning our own prejudices ..." Red Carpet Crash "It's really remarkable what this film is able to achieve in its brief 10-minute run time. It tells a successful mystery, hooking the viewer right up until the credits roll, but that never detracts from the emotional significance of a story like this." Dan Barnes BRWC "At just over ten minutes long, this is a tightly, expertly scripted and executed drama that will leave you wanting to see more." Vulture Hound " ... a short film that tests our perceptions and leaves us questioning our own prejudices and assumptive nature." Red Carpet Crash "A sharp and provocative mystery." Freelance writer, critic and film historian, Pamela Hutchinson (BFI)
