Take Me To The Moon Trailer: High School Romance Takes Flight
The first trailer for Take Me to the Moon stars Vivian Sung (Our Times) and Jasper Liu and looks to be a potentially delightful high school romance.  Set in Taiwan and directed by Chung-yi Hsieh, the film is inspired by the song "Take Me to the Moon," a classic by Taiwanese singer Tom Chang, according to ScreenDaily. The story revolves around six friends who are in a band together during high school. After they graduate, they go their separate ways until a 10-year reunion. But then one of them is "suddenly transported back to 1997" and "given the chance to change everyone's fate."  Take Me to the Moon will open in Taiwan on December 1 and in Hong Kong via Edko Films on December 7....

'The Interview' Earns $31 Million in Online and VOD Sales
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
Last week, Sony Pictures announced that their controversial comedy The Interview has earned $15 million from online sales and rentals, and an additional $2.8 million in its limited theatrical release over its first five days. The studio released even more sales figures today, revealing that the Seth Rogen/James Franco comedy has earned $31 million in online and VOD sales and rentals, between December 24 and January 4, and $5 million in theaters in that same time frame. The $36 million total is just under half of $75 million Sony spent to produce and market the comedy.

The studio announced that The Interview, "is Sony Pictures' #1 online film of all time," with over 4.3 million online transactions in the first week and a half in release. The comedy, which follows a TV journalist (James Franco) and his producer (Seth Rogen) tasked with assassinating North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un (Randall Park), was initially slated to be released in over 3,000 theaters on Christmas Day,...

Kirk Cameron
'The Interview' and Kirk Cameron Top Razzies Short List
Kirk Cameron
The Interview has been performing well in its limited theatrical and online VOD release, taking in more than $15 million from online sales and rentals. The comedy has already expanded to cable VOD, Playstation, Vudu and more theaters nationwide. Despite its early success, The Interview has not been received well by at least one organization, The Golden Raspberry Awards, a.k.a. The Razzies, which has released its "short list" of nominees. The Interview is listed in several categories including Worst Picture, Worst On-Screen Combo (James Franco and Seth Rogen) and Worst Actor (both James Franco and Seth Rogen). Voting for the Razzie Awards ends on January 10, with the nominations to be announced January 14, one day before The Academy Awards nominations are announced.

Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas, which was already voted the worst movie of all time by IMDb users, is also prominently featured on the short list, with nominations for Worst Picture,...

'The Interview' Is Youtube's Best Selling Movie of 2014
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
Despite only debuting in 331 theaters across the country last week, The Interview has already become a success online, taking in more than $15 million in online sales and rentals in just the first few days of release. Both YouTube and Google Play have announced that The Interview is their top-selling movie for 2014, just days after the comedy was released online. The unorthodox release strategy has certainly paid off for Sony, but it remains to be seen how this success will alter the release of other major movies in the near future.

To help celebrate this success, Sony Pictures has released a new red band trailer, chocked full of new footage, for those who haven't already purchased or rented this comedy. The new scenes are filled with R-rated language and plenty of sexually-suggestive footage, along with Dave Skylark's (James Franco) character arc from being excited to kill Kim Jong-un (Randall Park), to...

Demand for 'The Interview' Is Very High in North Korea
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
The recent hype surrounding The Interview has reached North Korea. The country's citizens are becoming more and more aware of this comedy, which depicts a couple of bumbling media journalists attempting to assassinate their leader Kim Jong-un. And the government is trying to stop bootlegs from being smuggled across the border as demand for it continues to grow.

According to Free North Korea Radio, which is made up of North Korean defectors, demand for The Interview continues to rise in the country, with citizens paying as high as $50 for a copy on the black market. This is reportedly ten times higher than the average asking price of the most popular South Korean TV shows that are sold illegally. An emergency meeting was held between North Korea's State Security Department and The Ministry of People's Security, whose officers were instructed not to let the movie find its way into the country at any cost.

'The Interview' Earns $15M Online, $2.3M in Theaters
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
With The Interview available in both theaters and through several online venues, Sony Pictures has revealed that the comedy earned over $15 million through online rentals and sales this past weekend. The comedy also earned an estimated $2.8 million since opening on Christmas Day, during its limited theatrical run in 331 theaters across the country. The film was initially slated to open in over 3,000 theaters on Christmas Day, where it was projected to earn roughly $20 million during its opening weekend, before Sony Pictures initially canceled the theatrical release nearly two weeks ago, following threats from a hacker group known as the Guardians of Peace.

The film was rented and/or downloaded more than 2 million times since first arriving on the web this past Tuesday, making it Sony's biggest online film of all time. The online sales and rental figures will likely increase even more in the coming weeks, since Apple's iTunes made the...

'The Interview' TV Spots: Franco and Rogen Are Back!
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
The Interview has had quite a storied path to release. Originally set to debut in theaters this past October, it was pulled so that it wouldn't correspond with North Korea's Party Foundation Day, as the film depicts the assassination of the country's leader Kim Jong-un. It was moved to Christmas day, but then pulled again because of a terrorist threat against theaters set to show the movie. But now, The Interview will screen in over 300 independent theaters across the country. To celebrate its return, Sony has released three new TV spots.

These latest previews come after the Studio spent a lot of time, energy and money completely wiping out all promotional materials for the film, including billboards and posters, and all video assetts. Sony also scrubbed The Interview's social media presence. It took down both its Facebook page and Twitter account. But now, the studio is working to set everything back in place.

Find Out Where 'The Interview' Is Playing Christmas Day
Antonio Flores
When Sony Pictures reversed their plans to cancel their theatrical release of The Interview earlier today, the decision sent indie theaters across the country into a frenzy to book the comedy in time for Christmas Day on Thursday. Deadline reports that Sony has implemented a 6 Pm Pst deadline for theaters to book the film, so the studio can send out hard drives containing the movie in time for these screenings. So far, a number of venues across the country have been confirmed, with several more likely to come as we get closer to the studio's deadline. Here's a statement from one source familiar with Sony's situation.

"Sony has had so many bookings coming in it is now focused on areas where a theater can guarantee a two-week run, or longer. They're so inundated with bookings they are being more careful about where they are booking [The Interview] in all the different markets.

'The Interview' Christmas Day Release Is Happening
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
Less than one week after Sony Pictures decided to cancel the release of their Christmas Day comedy The Interview, when terrorists threatened American movie theaters that planned to screen the movie, the studio has reversed their stance. Sony Pictures has confirmed today that The Interview will be shown in a limited amount of theaters on December 25. Shortly after Sony's decision last week, several filmmakers and celebrities spoke out against the studio's move to pull The Interview from theaters, and the President of the United States himself, Barack Obama, stated that he thought Sony made a mistake by pulling the release. Here's Sony's official statement below.

Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that The Interview will have a limited theatrical release in the United States on Christmas Day.

Said Michael Lynton, Chairman and CEO of Sony Entertainment:

Independent Theaters Petition to Release 'The Interview'
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
After Sony Pictures canceled the Christmas day release of their comedy The Interview last week, hackers from Guardians of Peace (G.O.P.) issued yet another statement demanding that the movie, starring James Franco and Seth Rogen, never be released in any way, shape or form, including Blu-ray, DVD or even online pirated versions. Sony later released a statement that they currently have no further plans to release The Interview, although studio sources have hinted that they may still offer the comedy through electronic sell-through, video on demand and other home entertainment venues at some point in the future. Even if those plans do eventually come to fruition, it seems unlikely that The Interview will ever be seen in theaters. Although today, a group representing independent arthouse theaters has reached out to Sony, asking the studio to let them screen The Interview.

Mike Myers Returns as Dr. Evil on 'Saturday Night Live'
Saturday Night Live aired its final episode of 2014 last night, with Amy Adams hosting and One Direction as the musical guest. One of the highlights of last night's episode was during the cold open, where none other than Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) interrupted the sketch to offer his thoughts on the Sony hack, North Korea's involvement and Sony's cancellation of The Interview's release. As you can tell from the studio audience's applause, Dr. Evil's presence was quite welcomed last night.

Mike Myers starred as Dr. Evil in the hit comedy trilogy Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997), Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) and Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002). Austin Powers 4 had been in development for several years, and we last heard in 2011 that Mike Myers had agreed to come back as both Austin Powers, but we haven't heard anything else about the project's progress.

North Korea Offers to Help U.S. Find Sony Hackers
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
The Sony Hack Attack continues to make headlines throughout the weekend. Shortly after the FBI confirmed they had proof North Korea was behind the devastating infiltration of Sony Pictures internal database infrastructure, which lead to the mass leaking of emails and documents from inside the studio, and eventually culminated in the cancelation of the Christmas Day release of their comedy The Interview, North Korea still claimed they had nothing to do with the cyber-attack. Today, North Korean officials have proposed that both countries form a joint investigation to find the real culprit behind the Sony Hack.

Both CNN and the Associated Press have reported that North Korea is warning of serious consequences if Washington DC fails to agree to a joint probe that will prove that Pyongyang is innocent, and not responsible for the leaking of documents and the terrorist attack threats made against theaters set to show The Interview.

3 Actors From The Interview on the Movie’s Cancellation
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
If you thought you were disappointed about Sony yanking the release of The Interview, just imagine being one of the film's actors — and then imagine being one of the movie’s actors who isn't Seth Rogen or James Franco, who have the benefit of 24-hour security. The Interview's main cast seems to have been placed under a cone of silence following Sony's announcement on Wednesday. Obama: Sony Made a Mistake Canceling 'The Interview'

Barack Obama addressed the nation today in his annual year-end press conference, where he commented on Sony Pictures' decision to cancel the release of their comedy The Interview, in the aftermath of the cyber attack that was perpetrated by North Korea. The President stated that he thinks Sony made a mistake by canceling the comedy's theatrical release on Christmas Day, adding that he wished the studio would have consulted with him before making the decision. Here's part of the President's statement from the press conference below.

"We cannot have a society in which some dictator someplace can start imposing censorship here in the United States. Sony Hackers Demand 'The Interview' Never Be Released
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
Now that the FBI has confirmed North Korea responsible for the Sony Pictures hack, two days after the studio canceled the Christmas Day release of The Interview, the hacker group G.O.P. reportedly sent out two conflicting messages to Sony. The first message, which was sent to Sony executives last night and obtained by CNN, revealed that The Interview can never be released in any way, shape or form, while the other, which was found by Arts Technica on PasteBin, states that the film can now be released, if Kim Jong-Un's death scene is cut from the film. Here's the first message that was sent to Sony's Amy Pascal, Michael Lynton and others last night.

"It's very wise that you have made a decision to cancel the release of The Interview. It will be very useful for you. We ensure the security of your data, unless you make additional trouble.

FBI Confirms North Korea Is Responsible for Sony Hack
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
The FBI today confirmed what many had suspected for the past month, that North Korea is responsible for the massive hack that crippled Sony Pictures, and ultimately lead to the studio cancelling the release of their Christmas Day comedy The Interview. North Korea originally denied any involvement in the cyber-attack, which began on November 24 when the entire studio's computer network was completely disabled, but the country had also praised the hack as well, calling it a "righteous deed." North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un had previously denounced the movie back in June, while the country's United Nations ambassador called the film, which stars James Franco and Seth Rogen as a TV host and producer tasked with killing Kim Jong-Un (Randall Park), an "act of war". Take a look at part of the FBI's official statement below, then read on for more details.

New 'Interview' Promo Debuts; Is VOD Release Happening?
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
After Sony Pictures canceled the Christmas Day release of The Interview in theaters, and clarified that they have no future release plans for the comedy yesterday, the studio surprisingly released a new TV spot on their official YouTube page today, dubbed "In Franco and Rogen We Trust." What's also surprising is the footage seems edited in a subtle way to address the controversial decision itself, while the end tag still states this will be released on Christmas Day. Unless there is a remarkable 180-degree reverse from theater chains who have a change of heart, it seems likely that The Interview may be released on VOD exactly one week from today.

It's possible that the video was uploaded by accident, but it's been on Sony's YouTube page for a full hour and it hasn't been removed yet. However, a more likely scenario is that Sony saw how others in Hollywood reacted to their decision,...

Paramount Cancels 'Team America' Screenings
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
When Sony Pictures canceled the Christmas Day release of The Interview yesterday, several theaters across the country, including the famous Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas, announced plans to screen the 2004 Paramount Pictures comedy Team America: World Police in its place. Today, the Drafthouse and other theater chains revealed on their official Twitter accounts that Paramount has canceled the screenings. No details were provided as to why Paramount decided to pull the plug on the handful of screenings.

The comedy, from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, would have been a fitting replacement for The Interview, since they both depict North Korea in an unfavorable light. The Interview centers on Seth Rogen and James Franco's characters being tasked by the CIA to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un (Randall Park). Team America: World Police, on the other hand, featured the dictator's late father, Kim Jong-Il, voiced by Trey Parker.

Did 'The Interview' Alter 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2'?
Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, and Dave Bautista in Les Gardiens de la Galaxie (2014)
Everyone is still talking about Sony Pictures' shocking decision to cancel the release of The Interview, one day after a hacker group threatened a 9/11 style attack on movie theaters playing the comedy. Several celebrities and filmmakers have already expressed their opinions on the matter through their Twitter pages, blasting Sony for caving to these hackers' threats. Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, however, managed to find a bit of humor in this whole game-changing ordeal.

As you likely know, the filmmaker is currently working on Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which will address one of the big mysteries from this summer's blockbuster: who is the father of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt)? The director already revealed in August that Peter Quill's father will not be the same as in the Marvel comics, J'son of Spartax, but that's about all we know so far. 'The Interview' Kim Jong-un Death Scene Has Leaked
Seth Rogen in Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years (2023)
After Sony Pictures canceled the Christmas Day release of The Interview, following terrorist threats similar to the 9/11 attacks, the studio also announced that they have "no further release plans for the film", which has many wondering if the movie is delayed indefinitely, or if it will be put on the proverbial shelf forever. In the film, Seth Rogen and James Franco star as a producer and TV journalist who are asked to kill Kim Jong-Un (Randall Park), after they secured an interview with the North Korean dictator. While it remains to be seen if and/or when the full film will be released, the death scene has been leaked online, which some believe may have been the reason for the massive Sony hack in the first place.

Gawker originally released the clip on Monday, which the site later removed, but the scene has surfaced again, showcasing the fiery death of the North Korean leader,...

Hackers Win: How Sony's Decision with 'The Interview' Changes Everything
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
"We don't negotiate with terrorists." This is a phrase that has been uttered in countless movies and by actual U.S. Presidents such as George W. Bush himself, and has long stood as a symbol for American values. Today that maxim has failed us. In an unprecedented move, Sony Pictures officially canceled the Christmas Day release of The Interview. This came just one day after a group of hackers known as the Guardians of Peace (G.O.P.) threatened a 9/11 attack on movie theaters showing the upcoming comedy, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco. The statement sent shockwaves throughout Hollywood, the first time a major American release was ever canceled due to terrorist threats. Sadly, not only did the Hollywood system fail the American public by giving in to these terrorists demands, which is even worse than "negotiating" with them, but it begs the question: what precedent will this set?...

Sony Has No Further Release Plans for 'The Interview'
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
It's official. "Sony Pictures has no further release plans for the film," a rep for the studio said Wednesday. The studio has also removed any trace of the movie from it's official website.

What was once a joke amongst film lovers has truly become a real life nightmare for Sony Pictures Entertainment and their film The Interview. The embattled studio, who was recently the victim of a cyber attack by an organization calling themselves "Guardians of Peace", has decided to effectively shelve their controversial Seth Rogen-James Franco starrer, The Interview. As of right now the movie will not be coming out in theaters, VOD or any other form.

That is until it ends up on the internet, right?

Could it be that "Guardians of Peace" are simply one or two people sitting in front of computer laughing themselves silly over the mayhem they created?

We'll get to that shortly.

Hollywood Reacts to Sony Canceling 'The Interview'
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
Sony Pictures gave in to demands today and pulled The Interview from theaters, after hackers threatened a 9-11-style attack on any theater showing the film. Despite the fact that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security released a statement stating there was no evidence of a terrorist plot against U.S. movie theaters that are screening The Interview, Sony gave theater owners the option to break contractual agreements and pull the film, most of which chose to do so. Later, Sony said they were choosing to cancel The Interview "in light of the decision by the majority of our exhibitors to not show the film."

"Sony Pictures has been the victim of an unprecedented criminal assault against our employees, our customers, and our business. Those who attacked us stole our intellectual property, private emails, and sensitive and proprietary material, and sought to destroy our spirit and our morale -...

Just one day after the hacker group Guardians of Peace (G.O.P.) threatened a 9/11 attack on movie theaters showing The Interview, Sony Pictures has announced today that they are pulling the comedy from theaters. This comes just hours after an unconfirmed report revealed that Sony is considering a premium VOD release for the comedy, after a majority of theater chains decided not to show the film, which was scheduled for release on Christmas Day. Take a look at the official statement from Sony Pictures below.

In light of the decision by the majority of our exhibitors not to show the film The Interview, we have decided not to move forward with the planned December 25 theatrical release. 'The Interview' May Get Premium VOD Release

Shortly after the hacker group known as the Guardians of Peace (G.O.P.) issued a warning to movie goers who plan on seeing Sony Pictures' The Interview, threatening a 9/11 type of terrorist attack on movie theaters, the top five theater chains in North America announced they would either delay showing the comedy or drop it entirely. Variety now reports that Sony is mulling a premium VOD release for The Interview, which centers on a celebrity journalist (James Franco) and his producer (Seth Rogen) being tasked with assassinating North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un (Randall Park). While Sony still plans on making the film available to theaters when it opens on Christmas Day, with top chains Regal Entertainment, AMC Entertainment, Cinemark, Carmike Cinemas and Cineplex Entertainment all deciding to either delay or nix the release altogether, a premium VOD launch could help Sony recoup its $42 million production budget, plus the undisclosed...

Seth Rogen's 'The Interview' Digitally Altered to Appease North Korea
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
One week removed from Sony Pictures pushing its controversial comedy The Interview from October 10 to December 25, the studio is making a few minor changes to the film, in hopes of easing tensions rising from North Korea.

Sony will digitally alter thousands of buttons worn by cast members, because they depict actual hardware worn by the North Korean army to honor their leader Kim Jong Un and his late father Kim Jong Il. Showing these military decorations would be considered "blasphemous" in North Korea, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The comedy follows a popular American talk-show host (James Franco) and his producer (Seth Rogen) who learn that Kim Jong Un (Randall Park) is a big fan of their show. They make plans to interview the dictator in North Korea, when the CIA tasks them with actually assassinating him.

Sources reveal the studio is also considering cutting a scene where the dictator's...

Seth Rogen's 'The Interview' Declared an Act of War by North Korea
Seth Rogen in Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years (2023)
The Interview is stirring up more controversy. Written and directed by Seth Rogen and his This Is the End partner Evan Goldberg, the film stars the comedian and James Franco as a talk show producer and his host tasked with assassinating the North Korean dictator in the guise of a sit down interview. Based on real-life ruler of North Korea Kim Jong-un, the dictator previously condemned the new comedy. Now, North Korean ambassador to the United Nations, Ja Song Nam has officially declared the comedy an act of terrorism against his country.

Ja Song Nam has taken this very serious complaint all the way to the United Nations, where he officially filed grievances towards both Hollywood and the filmmakers. North Korea sees the movie as a threat to the wellbeing of their country.

Here is the official statement:

North Korean Dictator Denounces 'The Interview' Starring Seth Rogen and James Franco
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in L'Interview qui tue ! (2014)
In a pretty predictable move, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un has condeemed the new comedy The Interview, from This Is the End directors Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Rogen stars in the film alongside James Franco as a TV producer and a talk show host who team up to kill the ruler on his own turf under the guise of a televised interview. Kim Jong-un claims the movie shows the "desperation" of American society.

That doesn't mean Kim Jong-un won't watch the comedy. A spokesperson for the dictator confirms that the dictator will be first in line when the movie opens in October.

This is what Kim Myong-chol, executive director of The Centre for North Korea-us Peace and an unofficial spokesman for the regime in Pyongyanghad, to say about the delicate situation.

"There is a special irony in this storyline as it shows the desperation of the Us government and American society.
