Born in Madras (now Chennai). He is the younger brother of the well know Rock musician from the 70's, Madhukar C Dhas. He is the youngest of 4 brothers, and grew up in a musical family where he was exposed to western classical and popular music from a very young age.
He has played in a number of Rock bands, along with musicians who went on to become well renowned. Among them are named, A R Rahman, Sivamani, etc. He has also acted on stage in musical productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats, Tommy, Starlight Express, Witness, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
In movies, he has acted alongside Kamal Haasan in the role of Raju, in both the Hindi and Tamil versions of the film. He has also acted in the title role in Peter Yesley's short film "Lungiman Takes a ride". On television, he has acted in minor roles in Tamil soap operas such as Kolangal.
He has also lent his voice for dubbing, in films like 1921 by I.V. Sasi, and on Radio as an announcer as well as in various Ad Jingles over the years.
He resides in Kodaikanal.
