North Bend Film Fest 2019 Review: The Incredible Shrinking Wknd Pushes a Familiar Concept into a Clever and Unnerving Direction
Have you ever felt stuck? Like life has ground to a halt and you’re not making any kind of forward momentum? Maybe it was made worse by the fact that when you looked around at your friends, you saw them all moving forward in some way. New jobs, new prospects, new adventures—everybody taking that next step except for you. Maybe you were fine with it, and were quite comfortable with where you were, or maybe it felt terrible. We have all been there. It’s a natural part of transitioning into new stages of life. Some people make the jump quickly and others take a bit more time.

It’s that point of stagnation that informs Jon Mikel Caballero’s first feature, The Incredible Shrinking Wknd. The film made its Us debut at the North Bend Film Fest, kicking off the second annual festival in a very gratifying way.

'The Good Wife' Recap: Alicia Gains a Powerful New Opponent
Alicia's learned some hard lessons about campaigning against Jimmy Castro to become the new State's Attorney. But what happens when she's faced with an opponent who might be more popular than "Saint Alicia"?

We're nearly one-third of the way through The Good Wife season 6, and politics is really taking center stage, at least when it comes to episode names. First, we had "Oppo Research," and this week it's all about "Message Discipline."...

'The Good Wife' Recap: What Will It Take to Push Alicia into Politics?
Poor Alicia! Everyone has faith that she'd make a great political candidate -- except her. The pressure's on, despite her repeated refusals to run.

At least she's got Cary back in the office. Unfortunately, current State's Attorney Jimmy Castro is still determined to nail him on trumped-up charges. So Cary's situation could change faster than you can say Florrick, Agos & Lockhart.

Kerry Washington Reveals Her Shattered Dreams of Working With Shamu
Kerry Washington
Kerry Washington made an adorable appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night. The Scandal star was her usual bubbly, charming self as she spoke with Jimmy about her childhood dream of being "the woman in the Shamu show." Kerry added, "I studied really hard, I got really into marine biology, [and then] I got to AP Biology in high school. . . . The joke in my family is that I was like, 'Forget the whale; I'll be on stage by myself.'" Watch the clip above - she later goes on to spit some serious knowledge about rodents. It's safe to say that despite her dashed dreams of working with whales, Kerry is still wildly successful. In addition to Scandal's big season-three ratings win, Kerry has picked up some more exciting accolades and personal projects. She was recently named best-dressed woman of the year by People magazine, and she signed on as the...

Jimmy P. (Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian)
Benicio Del Toro and Mathieu Amalric get personal, medical and a bit abysmal in Arnaud Desplechin's drama about some real-life post-war mid-west therapy sessions

"I could talk about my dreams all day," says Benicio Del Toro's wounded-soul soldier near the end of the Cannes competition's wackiest, crappiest contender yet. It's a line that's meant to show just how far our Jimmy has come from the near-mute migraine-sufferer of the first reel. In fact, after an hour and a half's acquaintance with those dreams, it just sounds like a threat.

Arnaud Desplechin's latest begins like a lobotomised version of The Master, with our demobbed hero examined by mental health consultants – a dazzle of starched lab coats – suffering war trauma. A later, slightly anticlimatic scene shows how he sustained that scar to his head – by falling, a bit pissed, off the back of a lorry. A lorry that was going quite slowly.
