Cited as one of the true game-changers in television history and maybe the greatest show in the history of the medium, it’s hard to find someone who straight-up hates The Sopranos. But there is one prestige name that wouldn’t have minded seeing the show sent to long term parking. No, not Daniel Radcliffe but rather Martin Scorsese, who it turns out has zero appreciation for The Sopranos.
Martin Scorsese’s disinterest in The Sopranos is well-documented, but David Chase offered some elaboration on what kept the director from ever seeking a second opinion. “Marty Scorsese doesn’t like the show. He said, ‘I don’t get it’ – it’s like all these trees and sh*t…It’s very simple. He grew up in New York in Little Italy, and there is Five Families organized crime there. That’s what he depicted. I grew up in New Jersey...

Dance! Dance! In Goodfellas, Spider made the fateful mistake of telling Tommy to do something almost as insulting as going home to get his shinebox. But for Michael Imperioli, that scene made him dance all the way to the emergency room.
Reflecting on working on Goodfellas as he was just trying to get his career going, Michael Imperioli remembered turning down a stunt double for the scene in which Joe Pesci’s character shoots and kills him – not long after giving him the only trigger warning the film needs. Because the prop guy handed him a real glass instead of the usual “sugar glass” used on sets, Imperioli actually cut himself so badly that Martin Scorsese had to pause the entire set. That’s bad enough but imagine the horror the hospital team faced when they saw this kid riddled with bullet holes. “They took me to the emergency room.

Amongst the many goodies I added to my collection while out at the Trinity Of Terrors convention, one particular piece of art really stands out. Said piece arrives in the form of an illustrated novella titled Dolor: Lila | Book 1. The book is a brief fictional venture written by Rick Florino and illustrated by Tony Caso. Brief as it may be however, it's clear at least nine more installments of this new Dolor series are planned - in effect forming a full length illustrated novel (think Stephen King's The Green Mile, or John Saul's Blackstone Chronicles with loads of nifty artwork included) to eventually feast upon.
My initial experience reading the book came on the 90 minute flight back home from Vegas to California. Now, when you fear heights like I fear heights, 90 seconds in a plane is a nightmare, let alone 90 minutes, therefore it's safe to assume I wasn't completely in the book.
