Biography

Her family tree includes 38 members who were or are successful artists, mostly musicians. Her grandfather was a talented self-taught violinist. Henri Casadesus, her father, was a noted composer, while her mother, Marie-Louise Beetz, was a harpist. A cousin, Robert Casadesus, was a well-known pianist.

Had 4 children with 'Lucien Pascal': Conductor Jean-Claude Casadesus, actress Martine Pascal, artist Beatrice Casadesus and composer Dominique Probst.

She was awarded the Légion d'Honneur in 1990.

She trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique in Paris, where she won first prize for comedy.

She was a star in the Comédie-Française, the national theater of France, for 30 years.
