When it comes to streaming platforms, Starz often feels like the middle child in a very crowded family. You’ve got the older, more established siblings like Netflix, HBO, and Disney+ hogging the spotlight. Then there are platforms like Apple TV+, steadily rising with standout originals and big names. And somewhere in between sits Starz, the underdog sibling that doesn’t get talked about as much, but still manages to deliver.
While it may not dominate headlines or spark social media buzz, Starz has quietly built a killer lineup of original TV series. Whether you’re into absurd comedies, dramas, or edge-of-your-seat thrillers, there’s something in its catalog that’ll hook you. And the best part? A lot of these shows are still overlooked, making them hidden gems.

Isla Fisher has been one of the most bankable names in Hollywood, appearing in several genres and flaunting her acting range. Her versatility truly popped up in Now You See Me, where she helmed the role of Henley Reeves, who is an escape artist and pulled off one of the biggest heists with her group.
The film was a massive success at the worldwide box office, paving the way for a sequel. Everything about the 2016 sequel was spot-on, making us laugh and keenly watch the tricks. However, one aspect made us feel off; Fisher was absent, and her shoes were filled by Lizzy Caplan, leaving everyone perplexed about her absence.

Both The Institute and Castle Rock are adapted from Stephen King’s work, but the response to each has been very different. That’s right, The Institute kicked off with a decent 78% critics’ review on Rotten Tomatoes but hasn’t connected that well with audiences. On IMDb as well, it currently sits at 6.9/10.
Meanwhile, Hulu’s Castle Rock, on the other hand, has held stronger ground. Both of its seasons are rated between 87 and 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, and it also has a solid 7.5/10 on IMDb. So, what could be the reason for this gap? Let’s dive deeper to know what Castle Rock did that clicked more with fans and critics.

40 years ago, Crispin Glover starred in Back to the Future, one of the most beloved movies of all time. While Glover did not reprise his role as George McFly for the sequels, he'd end up stealing the show 25 years later in a wildly different time travel film. Called Hot Tub Time Machine, the film is now streaming on Peacock just in time for the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future.
In 2010, Glover appeared in director Steve Pink's Hot Tub Time Machine, a time travel comedy. Following four friends who inadvertently travel from 2010 back to 1986 through a time-traveling hot tub, the film starred John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke. Glover was one of several notable supporting stars, joining names like Chevy Chase, Sebastian Stan, Lizzy Caplan, and William Zabka.
In the movie, Glover plays Phil, a bellhop at the Kodiak Valley resort that hosts the titular time machine.

Netflix’s Most Underrated Animated Series Has 97 Million Hours ( Photo Credit – Netflix )
Archer fans might have found their next obsession. It is a show that’s quietly slipped past a lot of people despite pulling in nearly 97 million viewing hours since 2021 and earned a sky-high audience score of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Overlooked Animated Series on Netflix
The show is Inside Job, a sharp and strange Netflix animated series, that is set in Washington, DC, where a secretive organization called Cognito, Inc. works behind the scenes to keep the world’s wildest conspiracy theories under wraps. From moon landing hoax to reptilian shapeshifters and mind control, all of it’s real in this universe, and it’s someone’s 9-to-5 job to keep it quiet.
The series leans into weird science, office dysfunction and dysfunctional people. Its main cast includes geniuses, rogue agents, and a shadow government that’s somehow more exhausting than terrifying.

If “Barbie” was supposed to be the Year of the Girl, then what do you call the three-month stretch of 2024 that gave us “Love Lies Bleeding,” “Drive-Away Dolls,” and a musical “Mean Girls” with lesbian intern Reneé Rapp? Hot Sapphic… Spring?
Actually, that’s not half-bad. It’s just a shame Kamala Harris lost the election, Charli Xcx steered the girlies wrong, and Brat Summer turned out to be a launch party for the modern Republicans’ debut EP, “Now That’s What I Call Fascism!” Fall.
To paraphrase a bi-coded owl from an almost exclusively heterosexual TV show, “When you look at something through rose-colored glasses, all the red flags just look like flags.” It’s a painful thing to yearn for pop culture controversies that would’ve exhausted us a year ago. Where is the annual railing against consumer culture? How can we get back to No Kink at Pride discourse?...

Homelander (Antony Starr) is still alive and kickin' in "The Boys," and there's a good reason for that. No other Supe brings dangerous unpredictability to the table like Starr's Homelander, who can oscillate between extremes in the blink of an eye. Even when we're privy to the reason why he is the way he is, this situational empathy doesn't erase his idiosyncratic brand of evil. After all, Homelander's diabolical presence enlivens a show that thrives on irreverent shock value, where very few characters can go head to head against such an insecure, petulant force of ... nurture. Starr embodies this milk-drinking, laser-eyed Supe to perfection, introducing a ton of complexity to someone who could've been easily written off as a one-note monster.
But Homelander is not Starr's first rodeo as an antagonistic figure, as he played an ex-con masquerading as a small town sheriff in the severely underrated series, "Banshee." Although this troubled character,...

I'm not breaking new ground when I say that Adam Scott is excellent on "Severance." This isn't a hot take; it's decidedly room-temperature. Technically, Scott plays two characters on Dan Erickson's twisted take on a "workplace comedy," even though they are the same person: Mark Scout, a miserable man who lost his wife Gemma (Dichen Lachman) in a tragic car accident, and to deal with his overwhelming grief, who takes a job at Lumon Industries that offers a procedure called "severance" that splits his consciousness into two distinct parts. When he leaves work, he's stuck being plain old Mark Scout, but at work, on the "severed" floor, he's Mark S., a willing acolyte of Lumon who has no idea that he ever had a wife, let alone lost one.
As his innie (Mark S.) and outie (Mark Scout), Scott delivers one of his very best performances; in the show's critically adored sophomore season,...

Megan Fox has taken on plenty of iconic roles over the years, but one film she came close to starring in has returned to streaming charts over 20 years later. Fox was one of the many names considered for the role of Karen in Mean Girls, the 2004 cult classic led by Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams. The part of Karen ultimately went to Amanda Seyfried, who almost played McAdams’ iconic Regina George. Mean Girls was released in 2004, and the film has since returned to streaming charts on Paramount+, sitting at #4 at the time of writing. Mean Girls earned a “certified fresh” 84% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a 66% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter. It also grossed $130 million at the box office against a modest budget of only $17 million.

One of the biggest found-footage films of all time has a new streaming home.
2008's Cloverfield from director Matt Reeves and writer Drew Goddard has officially landed on a new streaming home. As of now, fans can catch Cloverfield in all its terrifying glory on Paramount+. Better yet, Paramount+ is also home to the first of two follow-ups to the film, 2016's 10 Cloverfield Lane directed by Dan Trachtenberg.
Directed by Reeves from a script by Goddard, Cloverfield featured a star-studded ensemble cast including Odette Yustman, Michael Stahl-David, T.J. Miller, Ben Feldman, Theo Rossi, Lizzy Caplan, Mike Vogel, and Jessica Lucas as a group of friends and party goers whose attempt to enjoy an otherwise ordinary night in New York City spirals into chaos upon the emergence of a towering monster and its carnivorous offspring. A new month brings new movies to Netflix. Many of these are older gems, such as the six Alfred Hitchcock films that dropped on June 1, but that doesn't mean they are all good. You might like a movie that many do not.
Such is the case with the three films that follow. They aren't very good. If you don't believe us, just check their Rotten Tomatoes scores. Neither critics nor general audiences were huge fans.
We are just trying to warn you so you don't run across a good idea for a flick that truly only wastes your time. You only have so much every day, so move on from these and find some films that are worthy of your viewing.
These three movies new to Netflix should be avoidedThe Devil's Own (1997)
This movie, unfortunately, came at a time when neither Harrison Ford nor Brad Pitt were at the top of their immense games.

Both Now You See Me Movies Become Available On Streaming Ahead Of The Third Film's 2025 Release Date
With a highly anticipated third entry in the franchise set to arrive soon, it's now the perfect time to watch Now You See Me and Now You See Me 2 on Netflix as they hit streaming. The first film, which arrived in 2013, was a surprise hit that grossed more than $350 million (via Box Office Mojo), a very impressive number for something that isn't a sequel or an existing IP. There's just something cool and watchable about a group of magicians using magic tricks to pull off heists.
The sequel was a bit less successful but still also brought in over $330 million (via Box Office Mojo) and spawned a third entry, Now You See Me: Now You Don't. Ahead of that release, the first two movies are now available on streaming and they are kind of perfect for that platform because after watching Now You See Me's twist ending, you'll...

Before his breakout success on Breaking Bad, Aaron Paul came close to starring in a sitcom that many other rising actors were trying hard to land at the time. Looking back, Paul can still remember how depressed he felt at the time, as he didn't know about the opportunity that would be waiting for him around the corner.
Paul spoke about his career during an appearance on the latest episode of the YouTube interview series Hot Ones. He recalled auditioning for The Class, a CBS sitcom that served as a follow-up to Friends for co-creator David Crane. Despite Paul's best efforts, he did not secure a role on the show. He couldn't have foreseen that the show would be short-lived, while the rejection would open the door for him to find his career-making role. Though better days were on the horizon, however, Paul still felt very depressed when he didn't book The Class.

Fab friends, a dream closet, teen romance, and meddling in others' lives. These are the ingredients that make up "Clueless," the 1995 film about Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone), who wants to help others, as long as it works to her advantage. This includes giving a makeover to the new girl, Tai (Brittany Murphy), who is Cher's next project. These elements make "Clueless" the quintessential teenage movie, complete with a look into the world of '90s high school and the idea that adults and responsibilities like driving are a total drag.
All of this is told through the eyes of Cher, whose inner thoughts are shared through a narration that makes you truly understand her plights and her genius problem-solving skills that not everyone understands. Is there another movie out there that is just as cool as "Clueless" continues to be? As if! But if the ending has you buggin',...

For Robert De Niro, an industry legend with over 5 decades of cinematic brilliance under his belt, exceeding limits has never been optional. But his latest political thriller series on Netflix, Zero Day, did a lot more than just slightly stretch his muscles. The limited series demanded more out of him than any of his previous roles, and that includes his intense and physically taxing performance in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman.
The statement comes as a bit of a shock, honestly, given the marathon production and modern de-aging tech used in the 2019 hit. But with Zero Day, De Niro wasn’t just burdened with workload; it was the intense psychological depth, the ruthless shooting schedules, and the colossal task of justly portraying a former United States president navigating a country on the brink.

Mean Girls remains one of the most iconic teen movies, and that’s partly down to the all-around perfect casting choices that were made behind the scenes. Can you even imagine what it would have been like if the lineup of talent had been different!?
Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfied and Lacey Chabert grounded the movie as members of The Plastics – teen royalty of North Shore High School.
They were joined by other talented young actors such as Jonathan Bennett, Daniel Franzese and Lizzy Caplan alongside comedy legends Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
However, Mean Girls almost looked very different. For starters, all three members of The Plastics auditioned for other parts in the movie before they were finally cast. Several other actresses were also in the running for parts, and an A-list actor was considered for Jonathan‘s character Aaron Samuels.

Lumon has developed a technique that allows it to "sever" some of its employees; that is, employees have a computer chip implanted in their brains that separates their memories of the outside world from when they're off the clock and their memories of the workday. It's the ultimate in work-life balance. Outside Mark, his "Outie," is depressed and struggling, but Inside Mark, his "Innie," is chipper and positive.
At the beginning of "Severance," Innie Mark is introduced to Helly (Britt Lower), a new co-worker. Helly is unhappy with the idea of severance and initially tries to escape the Lumon offices. Helly's Outie, however, keeps walking back in.

Now You See Me isn’t just a movie, it’s a full-on cultural sleight of hand. A heist film with a twist (literally), it’s got all the adrenaline of a criminal caper with the jaw-dropping magic of, well, actual magic. This franchise isn’t just about flashy illusions; it’s about those mind-bending moments that make you question what’s real.
With a cast that feels like a dream team, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and more, the movie has become a cult classic, effortlessly blending high-octane heists with some seriously slick sleight of hand.
But behind all the smoke and mirrors, there’s way more than meets the eye. From real magic tricks to hilarious improvisation and even a few busted fingers, the making of these films is as wild as the plot twists. And while CGI helped bring the impossible to life, it’s the...

Who would have thought that the “Now You See Me” franchise would spur some of the biggest names in indie film? Oscar-nominated filmmaker Jesse Eisenberg and Sundance darling Dave Franco both return for third film “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” along with their fellow Four Horsemen magicians Woody Harrelson and Isla Fisher.
And there’s a new generation of indie stars joining the big Lionsgate franchise: Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, who were also all in person to stage a visual “heist” in the heart of Times Square to promote the trailer. Lionsgate gave away $250,000 in digital payments to fans that texted or called a mysterious phone number that was on a billboard.
“Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” also stars Rosamund Pike and Morgan Freeman. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer with a script by Seth Grahame-Smith, Michael Lesslie, Paul Wernick, and Rhett Reese.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the long-awaited third installment of the magic-themed heist franchise Now You See Me, has revealed its first official trailer.
Taking place nearly a decade after the events of Now You See Me 2, the new installment reprises much of the original cast — including Isla Fisher, who didn’t appear in the second film — as well as a new generation of magician thieves. Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Rosamund Pike all join the cast, with Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Woody Harrelson, and Morgan Freeman also returning.
The trailer finds Danny Atlas (Eisenberg) leading a young band of magicians as they work to steal the coveted “Heart Diamond” — the “most valuable jewel in history” — from the powerful and corrupt Vanderberg family, who are led by Rosamund Pike’s character. After almost a decade, the Four Horsemen are back. Lionsgate has just dropped the first trailer for Now You See Me: Now You Don't, the long-awaited third installment in the fan-favorite heist thriller franchise.
The official trailer begins with what looks like a Four Horsemen reunion performance; however, it's quickly revealed that a new generation of magicians — played by Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie), Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers), and Justice Smith (Detective Pikachu) — are using the Four Horsemen for their own profit. The ruse is just as quickly uncovered by Jesse Eisenberg's J. Daniel Atlas, one of the original Four Horsemen, who recruits the young trio to help him with a new heist. While Atlas reveals that he parted ways with the Four Horsemen years ago, the team is soon enough reformed, with the two generations coming together to stop a worldwide criminal network.Check out the trailer below.

The first trailer for “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” has arrived, and our four original horsemen are finally back together again.
Yes, Isla Fisher is back as Henley, reuniting with Jesse Eisenberg’s Daniel Atlas, Dave Franco’s Jack Wilder, Woody Harrelson’s Merritt McKinney and Mark Ruffalo’s Dylan Rhodes, after she sat out the second film in the franchise. Unfortunately, that means no Lizzy Caplan this time around.
New cast members include “The Holdovers” breakout Dominic Sessa and Justice Smith.
Ruben Fleischer, who directed Eisenberg in the two “Zombieland” films, steps into the director’s chair this time around and is already in talks to direct “Now You See Me 4.” Louis Leterrier directed the first “Now You See Me” while Jon M. Chu directed 2016’s “Now You See Me 2.”

Robert De Niro's paranoid political Netflix series "Zero Day" rocks a stellar cast and a magnificent premise: a cyber attack renders essentially every piece of advanced technology that's located in America inoperable for one minute, which causes nationwide destruction. With a threat of future attacks hanging over the country's collective head, it's up to the universally beloved former President George Mullen (De Niro) to solve the mysteries behind the attack.
Things get extremely complicated before the six-episode series concludes, and De Niro is characteristically impressive in his first TV series, so much so that horror legend Stephen King has called him terrific. The show certainly gives De Niro plenty to do, as it strongly suggests that Mullen's investigations are hindered by either outside forces or symptoms of dementia ... or, quite likely, both. The old President's inner turmoil manifests in the form of the song "Who Killed Bambi," from...

There are many actors who come from humble beginnings (though less so these days) and remember a time when it was a struggle to pay the bills. And Thunderbolts* star Sebastian Stan is no exception. The Academy Award-nominated actor is sitting comfortably now thanks to numerous projects that have established him as one of the best actors of his generation, but before he arrived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Stan was barely getting by. However, it was residuals from a largely forgotten 2010 comedy that helped him keep the lights on before he was cast in Captain America: The First Avenger.
Speaking with Vanity Fair, Stan reveals that he was in a rough spot acting-wise before he was cast in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger as Bucky Barnes. It was a role that changed the trajectory of his career, but it was the residuals from the 2010 comedy film Hot Tub Time Machine...

A new adaptation of Alex North's best-selling novel "The Whisper Man" on Netflix has found its star-studded cast. Academy Award-winning actor Robert De Niro will lead the new crime thriller and Michelle Monaghan, Adam Scott (Mark Scout in Severance), Michael Keaton (Spotlight), and more will also star. It was first reported that the streaming platform was eyeing the project from Agbo in 2022, but the studio didn't confirm it until February 2025. Agbo is Anthony and Joe Russo's production company, with the brothers having directed several popular Marvel films and Netflix's recent sci-fi epic The Electric State. The filmmaking pair is on board to produce The Whisper Man.
According to Netflix, the film will follow the plot of North's New York Times best-selling book. It's the story of a widowed crime writer whose eight-year-old son is abducted after moving to a new home for a fresh start. The writer looks to his father,...

Sebastian Stan is one of the most in-demand and most-respected actors in Hollywood. It certainly wasn’t always that way — not before Marvel came calling.
Stan told Vanity Fair he was “struggling with work” before being cast as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier for 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger.
“I had just gotten off the phone with my business manager, who told me I was saved by $65,000 that came in residuals from Hot Tub Time Machine,” Stan recalled.
Thank goodness for the role of Blaine the ski-patrol bully. (Stan had also done 11 episodes of Gossip Girl by then.)
Hot Tub Time Machine starred John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke as a group of guys who accidentally time-travel back to 1986 using a hot tub and must find a way to return to 2010. Channing Tatum has shared a suspenseful outlook on his role in Avengers: Doomsday after being one of the names confirmed to star in the film. Tatum first made his MCU debut last year as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine, and it was assumed once his chair was revealed as part of the Doomsday casting announcement that he would be reprising his role, but that might not be the case. Many fans speculated that Tatum’s Gambit showing in Deadpool & Wolverine was tantamount to John Krasinski’s Reed Richard being in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and that this particular version of the character would never be seen again. During a recent interview with ExtraTV, Tatum played coy when asked what it was like to get to play Gambit again in Avengers: Doomsday:

It’s the kind of place where anyone could blow up overnight (or crash just as fast), and that mix of ambition, chaos, and ego makes it perfect TV fodder. With the release of “The Studio,” which follows Seth Rogen as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of Continental Studios trying to balance his artistic integrity with the Studio’s bottom line, it felt like a great time to recap the other epic series that pull back the curtain on showbiz. So, here are the top seven TV shows about Hollywood you can stream right now.

Marvel, and specifically the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has dominated the zeitgeist for nearly two decades at this point. There's always plenty of talk as to whether general audiences are getting tired of Marvel movies, and while the MCU may not be as infallible as it once was, there's still ample interest. 2024's "Deadpool & Wolverine" crossed the $1 billion mark, and "Daredevil: Born Again" has been largely viewed within a positive light. Sure, every so often you get a "Captain America: Brave New World" that underperforms, but superhero movies will always have a place within the cultural landscape.
Some might argue that there are already too many Marvel movies, but they're could've been plenty more. For every Marvel project that winds up in theaters, there are numerous others where a script was written or even went into pre-production but got cancelled for one reason or another. Honestly, some of these cancelled...

The third installment in the Now You See Me series has been officially titled. During Lionsgate's CinemaCon presentation, the studio unveiled Now You See Me: Now You Don't as the official title for the next entry in the heist thriller franchise.
The Now You Don't subtitle comes roughly a decade after fans wanted it for the 2016 sequel Now You See Me 2, also marketed as Now You See Me: The Second Act. While Now You See Me 2 director Jon M. Chu revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the title was discussed for the sequel, it was ultimately rejected due to being "really long" and "confusing." Now You See Me: Now You Don't is a reference to the common idiom of the same name, which is often uttered during games like peek-a-boo or magic tricks.
Now You See Me 4 Also Announced
Per Deadline, Lionsgate also announced Now You See Me 4 during its CinemaCon presentation.

The long-awaited threequel in the hugely popular Now You See Me franchise just got a magical update, with the heist follow-up now being given the title that fans have long wanted to see. Announced at the ongoing CinemaCon event, Now You See Me 3 will see the core cast, including Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Isla Fisher return to once again cause all manner of mystical mischief as the Four Horsemen. And that's not all, as the third film won't be the end of the franchise.
Rather than following the trend seemingly set by its predecessor and being called Now You See Me 3, the third outing will instead be titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, it has been revealed. And thus finally doing what fans have wanted for some time (many expected and hoped the second movie would be given this title at the time). Moreover,...

Mean Girls was a major success when it came out in 2004, but its popularity has only grown over the years. The movie further grew into a franchise that includes a made-for-tv sequel, a Broadway stage musical, and a film adaptation of the stage play.
However, even with all the additions, the 2004 teen comedy movie has become a cult classic. Starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lizzy Caplan, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried, the actors are often recognized for their roles in the hit comedy. In a new appearance on Happy Sad Confused, Seyfried showed her appreciation for Mean Girls and reacted to people always quoting the movie back to her.
The Oscar-nominated actress has starred in many projects throughout her career, but Mean Girls marked her feature film debut after roles in two soap operas, As the World Turns and All My Children. Seyfried addressed whether the love the movie is...

Amanda Seyfried is forever indebted to Mean Girls.
In an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Seyfried reflected on the 2004 teen comedy and the “unadulterated fun” she had while making the film when she was 17.
Host Josh Horowitz reminded Seyfried how loved the film is to this day. “Until the day you die, a 14-year-old girl will come up to you every day and quote you as if it just came out the day before.” Horowitz said.
“I hope they quote it on my grave,” said Seyfried, who played Karen Smith in the movie. “That’s an organic moment. It was, in many ways, a perfect movie, and people relate to it, still. It connected us, and it continues to. I will always be excited to talk about it,” adding “Any day, I’ll honor that movie for what it did for me as a person.”
