Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Michael has been on the move since he was eighteen, living in New Orleans, where he earned a degree in Broadcasting from Loyola University; then in Los Angeles, where he wrote for and performed in The Groundlings Sunday and studied the Meisner Acting Technique at Playhouse West; and then Toronto. His screenwriting credits are as varied as the cities he's lived in: 20:13-Thou Shalt Not Kill and The Hustle, both thrillers; the independent dark comedy, Starstruck; and The Chair, a supernatural drama that has garnered several film festival awards. His latest screen credit is The Well, a dystopian thriller directed by Academy Award nominee, Hubert Davis. He's also written two unpublished novels: Bridger's Trail and Lost Causes. In a previous life, Michael eked out a living as an actor, appearing in three dozen forgettable commercials. He's planning one final, "permanent" move, with his wife, Elaine, to Vancouver Island and adopt two dogs they've already named Vito and Mr. French.
